No. Usually the tutorial will be about the topic of the previous lecture.
So lets say your lecture is on Friday and your tutorial is on Monday. First week usually no tutorial for business subjects. So after your lecture on Friday about Topic 1, your tutorial next Monday will be about Topic 1. Doesn't affect studies at all.

Added on February 25, 2011, 9:27 pmI think you should get more info about Monash University first. Monash is one of the Group of Eight in Australia. If you dunno what Group of Eight is, go to http://www.go8.edu.au/
Sunway collaborates with Victoria University which is easier to get in and also cheaper. Many who couldn't meet Monash entry requirements will go to VU for a year then transfer to Monash to complete their degree.

I don't know about VU's timetable, you should ask in Sunway University thread about that. But be prepared to be very busy as double degree courses are usually for people who can actually handle it. I have a few friends who drop off one degree after a year or so because they couldn't cope up with it.

single degree takes 3 years whereas double degree take 4 years am i right? tat is so much faster..

Depends on what degree. Engineering n pharmacy takes 4 years.

not same leh..double degree definitely will be more pricey than a single degree...

That is if both degrees are 3 years. If one of them is 4 years then combined with a 3 year degree would become 5 years for a double degree.

If your paying around 30k a year then a double degree which is one year more than a normal degree would cost you 30k more on tuition fees

lets calculate it like this.
Single degree for 3 years, total=70k++
Double degree for 3 years, total=140k++

no, there's no difference for the first three years unless of course say you do an engineering degree with a business degree than the tuition fee for the engineering subjects would be more than than the business subjects.
What I meant was total fees when you finish the course.

Didn't skip the school briefing and tour, but my feet is goddamn killing me after the tour, and the line for the Photo ID is ridiculously long, so I skip the photo session la.

I'm gonna do my photo tomorrow, hopefully everyone did theirs on Wed, so there won't be too much of a queue. Hopefully la.

Unrelated, but after the school tour and seeing all the labs, I feel that I'm kinda leaning towards Mechatronics instead of Chem now haha....

hello ppl i was wondering if i'm eligible to apply SCHOLARSHIP from Monash Sunway Campus for year2 of BEng if i am not entitled for the 'entrance scholarship' for year1 ... help me guys btw. i totally skipped last week's orientation cause i'm a late applicant. i'm paying my fees tomorrow. help me guys

Not sure about scholarships, you should inquire when you're paying the fees tomorrow. Orientation stuff isn't particularly urgent imho, anything you missed you can ask your rep or seniors for help. The setting up of your WES account can be done on your own.


BTW, does anyone know if there is tut or lab in the first week, for Engineering in particular?

I've got a tut at 8am tomorrow, so not sure if I should go? Next class is at 12, so it would be a ton of time wasted if I went and there isn't a class.

Got the same problem, here. My timetable says that my tutorial starts on the 1st of March. But it's pretty standard for Australian universities to only hold tutorials in the second week, right? At least, that's how it was during my time in UniSA.
