Another question arise? lol

CBP better than C3GB/CXPx.. this is only thru observations, and is not based on facts

Weekly better than daily? (like how d98 is better than d68 in terms of stability based on words of mouth too) lol.
mochachoke,
aint sure about that Celcom hsdpa upgrade since we are on Celcom Prepaid Broadband with only max 3g speed allowed.

yeah those developed countries have better speed for sure. smile.gif

I thought CBP is the same with the broadband prepaid offered for xpax users? In the menu we can access daily unlimited and weekly unlimited right? How do you know the 2 of them CBP and xpax broadband is different thing?

As i mentioned earlier, i dont. These are all based on observations. But, Owner of Malaysia Mobile Tech News does share a common guess with me saying that CBP might be on different "back end" system though using the same 3g spectrum. I am going to list down my observations again for the sake of benefits of the doubts.

My CBP - a constant dl of 384kbps. One user at Bukit Jambul has a constant of 400+kbps. My officemate who used mine as a test at Wangsa Maju got a constant of 400+kbps.

Upload speed at my place is a constant 80-110kbps, where as C3GB is at 20-40kbps.

Download on steam is at 40-45KB/s compared to C3GB at 20-40KB/s

I only experienced twice "error code" on my almost two weeks of usage.

Experienced hell-lots-tuuuut with my C3GB which ran at the same period as my CBP.
A couple of users too experienced constant "error code" using non CBP simcard.

I am assuming that you have upgraded your Xpax to Xpax3gsimcard coz the old Xpax is not a 3gsimcard compatible. And if you are already using 3gsimcard, may we know what is the real speed of so low. Lots of things could be the factors when it comes to wireless broadband. Yeah, you may want to try complaining to CS, asking Celcom to refund back to your account. I am not so sure about the outcome, but at least, you try.

Secondly, my hunch of CBP has better stability is based on the launching of the product itself. Rasionally, why do Celcom wants to launch CBP, if ppl can still subscribe using C3GB n 3GXpax. What advantages does CBP has over these two Prepaids.? If i am just going to need it for internet, why do i want CBP if these 2 other prepaids do have same internet stability plus the advantages of making calls, sms, and get bonus points. But right now, it seems that CBP does offer better internet connection on the expanses of no sms, no calls and no bonus points. The other two prepaids are great at calls, sms and bonus points, however, at the expense of internet connection. Right now, I would rather choose CBP for Internet, for i believe that CBP is solely marketed for internet users (thus the hunch of different "backend" system).

disclaimer : my observations ya.. not fact. laugh.gif

Nope, it is 2gb for a week. So, if you keep continue using for a month. You can use 2gb x 4 at rm80 per month. Better than 5gb quota, and once again at the expense of speed (3gbonly).

Bro, my simcard is not a 3G one. Even when i surf with my handphone, it is so slow. I cant even operate the mobile ebuddy. On top of that when i use opera mini, pages just can load. Strange... My handphone can't support 3G so I din go for the 3G simcard. Although RM20 is not a big amount, but the speed is reli unbearable, just like kena stab in my heart T_T.

Ahh, that is the case.

I feel you bro. Sorry to disappoint you, but even if you complain to CS, they ll probably ask you to change to 3G sim card and use a 3g phone.

In order to surf at 3G speed, you ll need a 3G HP, preferably with class 32, and a upgrading your sim kad to USIM(3G). I am assuming, since yours isnt a 3g simcard, probably the card can only handle EDGE and GPRS speed, which is a 56kbps. I am not sure with Celcom, but in the absence of 3G, it will revert to GPRS, now if Maxis, you ll get Edge, and finally GPRS. Opera will still open at 56kbps, but opening a page on a computer at 56kbps, yeah, that would be very slow. May i know, on what hp are you using it?

Now, if you can, try borrow a 3G phone, and why not upgrade your simcard as well to 3G(not sure wheather you have to pay rm10 or not). it is okay if your hp isnt 3G, but at least that 3G simcard will be handy if you decide to change hp in the future. If you can upgrade by tomorrow, at least you might be able to use the remaining days of your weekly unlimited.

Dont take it too hard blush.gif . Enjoy your weekend. Just assume that RM20 is a knowledge that you have gained, or better yet, comparing that rm20 to your spending for 2 persons at McDonalds untuk makan-makan tak sampai 20min. The way i look at your rm20, like Mastercard advert - "Priceless"

Happy Weekend Ya smile.gif
