Still not yet go down a bit more to my target buy price. Otherwise, put on hold for a nice weekend and hopefully next week will red some more. yawn.gif

I think ppl rushing to buy Uchi for its 6 sen tax exempt dividend.
If price is RM1.00, then the dividend will yield 6%

Look at Maybulk, dividend 30 sen, after 26% tax will receive 22.2 sen.
At price RM3.00, then the dividend will yield 7.4%

So... you still want to rush to buy Uchi? Why never consider Maybulk?

I missed out on the Maybulk boat a few months back when it was trading around 2.1x. I was waiting for it to drop to 2.00 before I buy. But the price just kept shooting up.

Maybulk share price is not responding to the generous dividend because it is not registering that kind of profit which is not sustainable in the long run.

Any extra dividend not generating from profit and positive cashflow is not sustainable, which market won't responde it too good generally.

So when seeing dividend time, it must be matched by EPS from normal business operation (not from extra-ordinary items), only we can assure it is 100% positive.

ppl taking profit on uchi

btw .. im not kind of expert that can examine and comparing deeply between 2 counters but i dont think ppl just go in to buy for div ONLY coz price will be adjusted according after ex div .. ppl are tyring to get a more defensive counter now as they can also gv generous div

As u now only compare the final div given by both counters but if u include the previous interim paid out i think the div yield is almost the same .. correct me if im wrong

Yup, if look at technical side, no matter how you draw the line, 100 days or 200 days moving average, it is still a bear out there. We haven't got the major breakthrough and reversal if look at longer term chart like 1-2 years.

Stock market and commodities price near term unlikely to have a deep fall due to massive liquidity has been injected around the world. Unless we have another major event, like similar like Lehman went under issue, or US auto-industry on the brink.

Money simply has nowhere to go right now.

That's why i think the current price of above RM3 will not sustain until ex-dividend which i think should be in the month of May.
Noted the Executive Chairman disposed off 1.7million share in the last few days.
Maybe should sell now and buy back after ex-date for those who has more than 10% paper gain.
Once the price start to collapse, it can be pretty fast go back to 2.50-2.70 level.
