Same question here.

most likely a dividend announcement..

some companies have a pattern (although i didnt check resorts specifically) but if u look at consistent paying dividend cters u will see they always pay more or less around that time.

personally i think Resorts (though the current economic climate) will not want to hoard its more than huge enough war chest with cash.. at the end of the day the only beneficiary of the monies will be the gov.

more likely than not with the continued share buy back schemes and consolidation of grip by resorts over its own shares.. there is possibility a dividend will be announced and the monies will be recycled back into the companies coffers. OR...the constant grap for shares could hint possible privatisation move by the company &rakan2 suhabat resorts.

Cherroy actually i had no clue, i just heard rumours they were going to announce something, but i just look at future potential.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Mar 20 2009, 03:15 PM)
Fyi, dividend has been proposed (4 cents) when its last reporting its 4th Q result. Just it need to go through the paper work for the dividend payment date only which will be announced later on.

Unless company make a U-turn to reject its own dividend proposal.
*
its good to know thanks for the info.
i agree with u, the 4 quarter reports have to go through AGM (normally in April unless they r damn efficient they can make it in the March window) be4 anything said earlier becomes official.

unlikely for corporate giants to make u turns once they announced something (*fingers crossed*), no only is it embarrassing but perceived as bad for business.

be patient , be patient , heh-heh.... yunno I bought @ what price? 2.50/2.80/3.50.
This share has got no company fundamental problem, that is the relieve. Besides having a good stash 4b worth of cash, its daily operating income is also very much intact. Unfortunately, its being sold at this moment for no apparent reason.
If you think you can hold your money for a while, then, I believe it will be worth waiting. It's worth more than this price.

i bought 2.4/2.01 also kenasai.. but must have patience is like going fishing

QUOTE(cherroy @ Mar 23 2009, 10:14 AM)
The toxic assets will fall into the hand of gov or tax payers not investors, aka good for financial shareholders.

The move is no different what Malaysia was doing by setting Danaharta to acquire those foreclosured/seized properties under bank so that banks' balance sheet become cleaner and start lending again back 1998-1999.

Having said that, the toxic plan is baked into and already anticipated by the market already, don't surprise market behave "buy on rumour, sell on news"
*
sound more like a bail out just with a different name to it "buying toxic assets", at least Danaharta is doing it in broad daylight and naked.

best part is Malaysian arent even making a sniff abt it.

same principal applies.. public money buying up debt and bad management (toxic assets) by leading individuals whom have greased their way so far up the chain of command.. they could slide in and out without any hindrance. mad.gif

I don't mind it it drops to 1.60 b'coz I'll buy many lots of it then.  wink.gif

But are you sure you got it right. Is it 1.60 or is it 2.60?    biggrin.gif

So far up 5 sen already today. Need to break the huge sell queue @ 1.96 which is pushing the price downward.  hmm.gif
*
i bought at 2.01 and 2.4 my avg is about 2.0X...

i am definately ok becoz i see the long run potential of it (rather than buying up Maybank which i regretted, but i betting my money on non-GLC coz i personally think recovery is on their side especially gambling tobacco related "sin counterS)

being hypocritical i also hold TM exceptional to GLC related.

ieven if it fall below Rm 1 i will continue to accumulate, i belive such stock when recovery is in sight is potentially a boom.

as for the rest of the investors gd luck hunting!

Once u bought dont regret,

if share price come down, dont worry let it fall all the way.. (unless smthing fishy is going on)

fundamentals at the end of the day will prevail.

here is a case study for everyone, from my experience..

I bought BJtoto at 4.52 (high right?), collected some dividend as well
it fell to 4.42..
sold at 4.58..
now 4.76..

Ignoring dividend collected, Impatience cost me 18 cents.

Added on March 23, 2009, 11:27 amRight Judgment Call?

TSH
bought at 1.39
went to a low at 1.32
sold at 1.45
shot up to 1.52
price collapsed to 1.36

Loss of 7 cents difference.

Added on March 23, 2009, 11:31 amJtinter..

bought i think at 4.52(somewhere around the same price like BJtoto, also colelcted dividend)
sold at also i think around 4.58
*Knowing capital repayment was coming soon, yet sold it*
high of 4.8
now 4.2

I believe i lost on potential gain an estimated of RM 1..

Impatience.

Impatience.
i lost 1/2 of my profits.

I still got 20% cash not invested yet. Will do some deep sea fishing next month.

i dont know i prefer to buy parent shares rather than warrants ... "dont feel safe" .. though return could potentially be peanuts

No idea. It is my goreng stock.
Warrant return is high if play it right (timing).
*
lol i prefer auto pilot mode, shoot fire and forget... reach X% and sale.

I jsut dont have the patience (which is already so bad looking at how i performed with all the shares i have bought)...

Another thing to worry is expiry period and also volatility which normally concerns me the most abt call warrants.

Yeah, market appears bullish but retail investors are damn quiet.

My interpretation....sign that the uptrend can't hold.(no one to catch the hot potatoe)
*
sekali slam dunk semua yg dari belakang mati standing..

buy high in the morning how to sell in the evening, kena tunggulor?

i think EPF/Value Crap (didnt recently they got a pie of the MiniBudget?) is baiting retailers to come die with it.
