Latest Update: Transplant in the process.
Engine: L502 JB-JL Auto

Previous attempt to transplant L500 EF-JL no go.
After 3 months of delay. Found a L502, Twincam 4 piston Auto with very low mileage.
Car due in 2 days time.

Original L200s EF-CL engine + wiring removed. Waiting to intall the JB-JL.

Small project only. Hahaha!
No bodypart installation, no FMIC. All standard L5 nothing extra.

Performance:
Slower pickup, somewhat lag. Most prob due to stock exhaust pipe and maybe also all these while i drove a manual. Plus the JB-JL is not known for its strength in accelaration.

Fuel consumption:
Still testing. Will post once i get it.
Would most prob go 13cent/km or so. Depending on the right leg or the car thats tailing me. Hehehe!

Next stage will be the handling.
Current setup. L5 front sus/ L2 back. 2 point strut bar and L2s Anti roll bar. 13in rims.
Any ideas to improve?
14in? fenderbar? lower springs?

I guess i'll stick to what i have now. Maybe 14in much later. Looks cooler hahaha.

Some questions i want to ask.

My gearbox is a LSD auto gearbox.
When making slow turns, the gear box makes a certain grinding sound. (not the drive shaft kong sound)
Any idea why?

And braking problem came back. I had to pump the pedal to brake. If not the pedal will sink without braking.
Checked for leaks but none. Brake master cylinder kong?

It does seem that LSD gearbox do make such sounds. But there are some sites that recommend to add some additional liquid to help with the sound. Not sure how true.

fluffy6640: how long did you have your L5 engine?
When accelarating does your car feel that its revving too much before gear change?

I might get the HWL adjustable. Tried on my friends kelisa. Feels ok.
Really need to stiffen up the handling.

About 900+ for HWL. Will definitely consider it.
My car has this high RPM before changing gears. Esp during pick up from 0km/h. Will need to rev till 4.5 - 5k then gear change, after that most gear changes are at 3k. Do you have that as well?

Petrol consumption first week. 285km for RM40 thats about 14cents per kilo.
Whats yours like?

Just changed my brake master pump today. Finally braking is done.
Just need to change brake pads and skim the disc later.

Upgrades? Haha! Plenty in mind but will leave the engine stock first.
Fender bars from UR to improve handling.
L2s Front Bonnet. (Current flat bonnet from L2)
14in SSR Type C - Imitation / 13 banana style BR/Enkei - ori (Current rims are the 9 spoke L2s)
Exhaust. Will put a 1.5 in pipe / L2s Twin pipe. (Current pipe stock Kancil)

@Fluffy Any pics of your ride?

@fluffy6640 what exhaust system are you using? I hear some recommend s-flow. 1.8 from extractor then 1.5 to the end.

I do. After the transplant. Had this fuel smell after long drive. Was about to ask as well... hmn.. seems like a common thing. I plan to check it out soon.

Btw update on my Kancil.
Just installed a set of HWL Adjustable Suspension. Feels very good comparing to my L500.
Improved braking + cornering. Holds the car very well not as harsh as i thought it would be.

Next up. exhaust system.

looking at RSR / FGK.
current stock is choking the car. need to let the car breathe properly.

Update on my kancil.

After installing the L502 in it and running stock exhaust for the past month, it was a pain.
Felt the engine could give more but car not able to.

Due to that i just got the RSR Magic exhaust.
2inch from middle all the way to the back. No midbox.
Installation was an ease. PNP.

Car responses better and delivering much performance that was lost with the stock exhaust.
The sound is not loud. Gives a low rumble during idling. While cruising it remains quiet as well.

Will most prob add a mid box to make it even quieter later.

Yeah, the guy that sold me the RSR got himself a FGK twin pipe. Much more silent. He's running a EF-RL btw.

Any of you have done a custom air scoop before?
Would it cost more than a L2s bonnet?
I might want to get mine done. The flat bonnet is trapping the heat for my intercooler to work properly.
