perodua SC are wayyyy too expensive...last time i changed my compressor which was about half a year ago cost me around 550 just for the compressor itself..its a brand new Sanden compressor...i personally think the original Denso unit is more cooling..and puts less stress on the engine...im not sure how much is one unit of the new Denso compressor cost..maybe you can ask around...ask throughly when the mechanics quote you...whether they include servicing your aircond system and gas refill...

QUOTE(llJasell @ Feb 19 2010, 07:41 PM) Hi... I'm new here from Ipoh. I owned a kancil660 yr95. WOW!!!its been a long time since i have been posting...been quite busy recently...I have a few questions regarding the engine type and the accessories. 1. It has a L200RS Daihatsu engine. Is it the original one? Does it has much difference comparing with the L2 or L2s? 2. Do i need the 5 point grounding cable and the voltage stabilizer to increase the car's power? If yes, what brand would you recommend? I'm a noob in cars. I wanna increase my car's power but short in budget since im still a student. Therefore i think i'll pass on changing the engine. Please provide me any kind suggestions. Thanks. 1) regarding to your questions...what you mean by L200RS engine??u mean our stock 660cc engine on our kancil?? 2) Grounding cables and voltage stablizer wont increase car power...it will just make ur car electrical stuff works smoothly...i myself using the Pivot Voltage Stabilizer.. if you are on budget,i suggest you that you dont start to mod your car...coz modifying will cost u alot easily... |

QUOTE(Samuel_Takumi @ Mar 11 2010, 08:25 PM) my area cannot get eneos 10w-30....all spare part shop only got eneos 10w-40 where is your location bro??how bout castrol m-tec 10w-30 and perodua 10w-30 by petronas? nowday L2 alternator and fusebox how much ? (new / used) change aftermarket crystal is better...cheaper than l2s cromax headlmp to use the headlamp polish wax to polish the yellowish plastic headlmp...cheap lot face same problem with my wiper...damn slow kelisa engine can drop in kancil...saw few already the size just same like l5, labour charge depend on the workshop already some time rather spend more bit money to find the foreman who expert in k-car ![]() some ppl say this boost controller that boost control can install inside car but the pipe too long will effect the boost, izzit? that time when i wanna buy my engine oil,i asked the nice uncle at the shop whether Eneos or Castrol engine oil better...he said Eneos one better..Petronas should be ok i guess...but its quite expensive right???=S my headlamps also turn yellowish ady...wanna find some aftermarket crystal headlamps but i seen alot of aftermarket crystal headlamps turn yellowish very fast too... kelisa/kenari engine can be dropped into kancil...but i think the driveshaft everything have to use back kancil one...i dont think kelisa driveshaft can fit...gearbox as well...but then i saw a kancil dropped in myvi 1000cc DVVT engine as well as the gearbox into his car...so im not entirely sure about this though...need some kancil sifu to help here...hehe..... |

QUOTE(darkdevilrey @ Apr 10 2010, 10:30 PM) dear SLK sifus, kancil uses 10W30 engine oil...i recommend using Eneos Eco Touring Engine oil...very satisfied with this engine oil..rm44 for 250km is too little...rm44 should go around 300-320km...gear oil im not too sure but i think its 80W90 like you have mention...need some sifu's to verify this...spark plug code is W16EP-U / W16EX-U..this is from Denso website...my fren ( a gal ) bought a kancil 660 manual 2nd hand last year. last week only i realized she never service her car. her kancil FC about RM44 = 250km. is it sound a little over for a 660cc SLK? i plan to assist her to service her car end of this month. so my question is: 1.Kancil 660 Manual use wat engine oil? 2. Air filter and oil filter i can kao tim. 3.MTF i assume 80W90 normal grade will do? 4.Spark Plug what's the code ? i plan to upgrade NGK G-Power Platinum for her. 5.anything else that need to check? thx SLK sifus i recommend you to check on timing belt, aircond gas and change the fuel filter as well...and check whether idle timing during off/on aircond too...also check on whether the engines consumes alot of black oil...if it consumes black oil then its time for a total overhaul... QUOTE(tommy3679582 @ Apr 16 2010, 11:42 AM) Hi all Sifu... kancil can climb genting...provided that you are single driver...but if you are carrying 4 people in your car, your car will struggle to climb genting...I would like to ask can my 7~8 years Kancil 850 (Manual) able to climb up to Genting ? I never mod my car and all is in stock... my friend told me that old car will be having problem climbing up to genting like overheating and they keep asking "Your kancil can go ar ? O.o" btw, 4 adult including driver will be in car when climbing... any advice ? |

QUOTE(seancorr @ Apr 18 2010, 04:52 AM) I used to drive a 660 manual kancil which I still have it at home but my mom drives is around and its almost 13 years old but haven't reached 200k km on the clock yet and it goes to P2 SC for regular maintenance with no engine mods or overhauls yet. wow...mine 11 years old kancil already touched 229xxxkm on the odometer...full tank is around 280km++ and im using stock 12 inch steel rims...FC is around 280km+ per full tank and that also it because the kancil is using the kenari 13" wheels n tyres so there goes the FC. So yeah...if the kancil is stock...it should in theory touch the 300km mark depending on how heavy your foot is. On the question of whether a 850 kancil can climb up Genting, my answer is yes. I've seen a 660 kancil climbing up Genting with 2 ppl @ reasonable speed haha but expect to press on the gas pedal a lot. |

ermmmm....to ensure better cooling,i suggest u replace your radiator coolant...and let your mechanic to check for any leakage in the cooling system...as long your cooling system its in good condition then i think you wont have water boiling problem...

changing to vitara condenser your aircond will be cooler...but u will have to sacrifice power as the condenser will require more power from engine hence increasing your fuel consumption...

L5 halfcut its around 3k for the auto one...thats for the L5 16v 4 cylinder twincam engine...if u want the single cam or twin cam 3 cylinder will be cheaper...plus replacing all the tear and wear parts on the engine and changing to bigger rims because the L5 rims will need at least a 13 inch rims for disc brake clearance...total its around 7k to be on the safe side...including JPJ endorsement...if u want to save couple of bucks more then u can do the JPJ endorsement yourself...

QUOTE(fool1988 @ Apr 28 2010, 03:32 AM) depends on whether you have the budget to do the conversion anot...worth it anot, depends on how much u expect from the performance after conversion..but for me is worth every penny spent...but spend it wisely...=DQUOTE(Jolin198 @ Apr 28 2010, 09:35 AM) it is depands on you can afford anot. i am also a student which planing to put my little kancil to L5, but abit costly. if u dun wanna sacrifice your power, then i suggest you change back to Sanden or Denso original kancil compressor...although not very cooling during the daytime but morning and night its like being in a 1.5hp aircond room...LOL!!im using Sanden compressor myself...L5 compressor is the same size as kancil compressor i think..and its plug and play..need some sifu to clarify this...=S>> can i join this club too? JoliN198 - Kancil 850(M) 2001 i also got some aircond question to ask. if my little kancil want to change the compresser, which compresser you all prefer? if my little kancil change L5 compresser, it will be cold? (because my little kancil in the afternoon is wind onli, but morning and night is cold) and if l5 compresser, need any modify? My kancil wanan put L5 dashboard, izit just direct fits in or need modify abit onli can fits in? thanks for all sifu here. if your aircond is not cold enuf, maybe you can send it to your preferred aircond mechanic and let him check on the aircond gas..maybe your aircond is out of gas already...=D L5 dashboard needs abit of modification to be fitted into our kancil... hope this info helps... |
