i overhauled mine last year. but i did top overhaul only. didnt to full overhaul. its a sign for a new engine. i smell L2. HAHA!

errrr...also around 400++. replace the gaskets and stuff. also replaced timing belt and clutch. few days after my car came out of workshop, the engine started making funny funny noises. then started consuming alot of engine oil. took to mechanic and found out piston ring worn out. sigh! couldnt come at a better time.

yea. what to do. moving parts must be replaced after some period of time or usage.

YA! exactly! if bigger cars i think my wallet's hole will be even bigger! easy to park as well! a small space will do! where as other cars have to go round and round to look for car parks. HAHA!

ermmm..drop in L2s or L5 3 cylinder twincam engine, considering whether to drop L5 dashboard in as well. seats probably i will go for L2 seats but only the front seats. back seats remain stock because if put L2 seats behind will have to sacrifice 1 seating space.

yeah. still using the good old 12" steel rims. but whacking as hard as i could then i could swap to L5 rims as soon as possible. now still got alot of thread left. =P

i thought is under the dashboard there? on the driver side. in the fuse box. LOL!

Added on November 11, 2010, 1:15 ami think L5 3 cylinder twin cam share the same spare parts as kelisa and kenari engine. so shouldnt be a problem to source for spare parts. i was thinking bout the centre aircond vents too but i got a white face manual L2s meter. wanna use it next time when i transplant. hehehe.

its ok. most of the time i carry ppl who are small size.

how much u bought ur L5 rims for? take corners harder. but be safe. xD

Added on November 12, 2010, 3:40 pmQ1) if you are using RON 95, full tank should be around RM40 like that. i think on full tank should be around 300KM perhaps. but this is mainly on how heavy your right foot is and your car condition.

Q2) hrmmmmm...usually car that old should replace the timing belts and gaskets and stuff. if you have spare change, replace the clutch too and check on other tear and wear parts such as engine internals. make sure they are still in good condition.

Q3) the usual maintenance is change the engine oil and oil filter. spark plugs and air filter will last you for around 20,000KM each time. usually i spend around RM 75 for servicing which is changing the engine oil and oil filter including labour charges.

13" wont be as bad as 14". even stock L2s is also using 13" so i dont think there will be huge difference in fuel consumption. unless right foot heavy like hell lah. xD

Fuh! balls of steel! you dare to whack corner at 70 km/h. usually sharp corners maximum i will go at 60 km/h. anymore my balls will shrink even my car i have already lowered it. xD

Aiks! thats bad news. or could it be tuning prob? sometimes tuning also will have affect.

anyway, about fastreader questions.

it is advisible to service the car once you get it from the 2nd hand dealership as you can rectify the problems immediately. like some of the members here have mention, better prepare 2-3k aside for repairs. you will never know what goes wrong with the car next. depends on your luck. but most important before you purchase the car you test drive the car properly before you decide on buying it. there are alot of options out there so you can slowly look around. no need to make rush decisions or else it will lead you to a huge pocket on fire. xD

do you know any mechanic that you always service your car or your family members car?

ya. me too. i tried it at 70km/h once. after that balls shrink already. xD

hopefully is just a leaking pipe, or else.................................*sniff sniff*, i smell TD025 or TD04 setup coming. HAHA!

some perodua workshop are crap. i rather send to the mechanic that i go regularly. at least he is honest and his pricing also not bad. but at the end of the day the choice is yours. hopefully you will find a kancil that you really like nd gives you the least headache. xD

it really depends on your budget and what you are aiming for. if you want power definitely TD04. but then u will need to change injectors,fuel pump,remap ECU, better front brake pads and possible rear disc brake, front mount intercooler and bla bla bla.

in my opinion, for kancil TD025 enough already. because our cars arent mean to go fast so the only thing we can play is handling and pickup unless you are drag fan or change to track car instead of road legal lah. HAHA! if not then TD025 is a better option. increase pickup. but injectors also need to change but you wont be spending as much money as TD04. you can choose to use back original top mount intercooler or you want to change to front mount also can. depends on your budget. TD025 will suit daily drivers better. but i heard its quite hard to source for TD025. unless you can find 6A12 owners switching to single or bigger turbo. then you are in luck. xD

ori turbo will be same like stock. =)
light on the pocket and you dont need to crack head to source for parts to upgrade.

L2s if maintained properly, i think can last for a very long time. of course tear and wear parts will have to replace after some time but those are small issues. daihatsu engines are quite tough despite its size. or else the japanese wont worship them as k-kar kings right without reason? LOL!

K3-VET is a good engine. only draw back is it only comes in tiptronic transmission. if comes with 5 speed manual then chun. xD

660cc should be fine for female drivers. but get the manual one. dont get the auto one. seriously underpowered. after you get your car you can hang out with us more often. xD

yeah. i hate tiptronics too. they never seem to last. i heard there are some problems with the K3-VET gearbox. but you can always swap myvi 1.3 manual gearbox in it. xD

Auto Gauge seems fine though. although u cant compare to apexi all those. those are in a different league. xD

yeap. L5 springs fit kancil absorbers.

have you serviced your carburettor recently? looks like your carburettor needs servicing already.

aircond? you mean the compressor? if you are talking bout compressor there are many brands such as Denso, Sanden and blah blah blah.

haha! thats the price to pay if you want performance bro. performance dont come easy. money have to be well spent.

Sanden compressor is quite cooling but heavy on engine performance. how i know? coz im using Sanden compressor. previously was original Denso.

haha! definitely 850cc is a better car. modifications its almost the same. besides, if you buy 850cc, next time u wanna transplant 1000cc kelisa/kenari engine into it also can be done. 660cc cant do that. which is sad case for me. =(

and also in here we got alot of sifus. quite a number of them drive L2/L5. some very GK as well. =)
