wah...so low?!
Mine 1.6 (M) average about 13-14km/L

1.6L is known to have better FC than 1.5L especially if city driving.
darn, i sud have gotten a 1.6L instead... doh.gif

if plan to add extra gauge/meters on the dashboard, what is the most useful/important? was thinking oil temp, or maybe voltage meter. there is one for checking engine condition....? also what is vacuum meter for? this is for NA car, btw... advise pls?

those meter they sell in acc shops, include installation means need to add extra gadgets beside the meter itself?

thanks ah

for NA, take oil pressure, water temperature, voltage n vacuum gauge...

vacuum meter is to monitor intake manifold pressure...

certain gauge need to purchase the sensor separately... such as oil pressure n water temperature...
nope... i can face ur cai hose towards rushing air...
*
the vacuum meter fascinates me - does it benefit an EFi car like mine? eg, if the vacuum reading is too high(low?) then means i should improve my intake system or something?

voltage one, i guess i can guess its to measure that my car has sufficient/stable voltage for its operations like radio ON, AC on, headlights ON, foglights, etc? btw quick one, those add-on voltage stabilizer kits, can DIY right? anyone knows how? i'm skilled enuf with electronics but i'm not sure what size of capacitors to use, how many, and how is the connection will be. anyone got the circuit diagram somewhere? thx

finally the oil/water temp gauge - what does the readings mean actually bro? pls guide me a bit so i can at least follow those more technical articles i found with google pls? thx thx!

thanks bro catacombs.... now i got a better picture of what the readings off the gauges do liao.
i think oil pressure i put priority... tis one need to install sensor also, besides the gauge?
i'll go ask car acc shops... thx again

yah, anyone had try the d'carbo stuff? any comment?
i would like to know too~
*
ok lah, since the sifu's havent reply, pls allow me to pour out wat i read so far about d'carbonizing.
its aim is to flush out the built-up carbon deposits inside the engine (which part, i dunno) especially older cars.
seems like the liquid of decarbonizing is inserted through the intake system (Efi/carb also similar) in a slow manner.
then rev the car a bit, but not high RPM (think coz the liquid is not combustible stuff?) and will clean/flush out the carbon inside the car engine.

extra reading tells me we can actually DIY decarbonizing by spraying water mist into the intake system, they claim its the same thing so why pay more? so that is why i havent done decarbonizing yet and prefer to see what the sifus here gotta say. coz my car already 6-7 yr old...

hi guys, i was away for a week, now back! anyway, went to remove cat converter (sorry mother nature...), changed to 1.6" piping (or was it 1.7" die ah forgot so fast) and changed to cap ayam 4-2-1 extractor. in place of cat conv, stuffed a centre bullet there. it is weird shape, not straight, not spiral, but like... long bean (kacang panjang) shape... dunno how to describe. length about 2 feet long liddat. immediately feel better picket and smoother acceleration, but this may mainly because of the bigger NEW piping? coz old piping maybe build-up of carbon deposit liao... anyway, maybe also due to removal of the cat conv. muffler still using stock standard (partly due to budget). so the exhaust sounds almost the same, not much differences compared to original, but slight louder and also sharper (higher frequency sound has higher peak?) - sorry i kinda bad with descriptions blush.gif will now monitor the FC and see how it compares. sould have results after 2-3 more tanks of refill. right now not accurate coz tend to stretch each gear longer before changing (due to that new smooth acceleration feeling i get tongue.gif )

anyway, here is the sad news. the exhaust shop dude tells me that my 2003 wira has the weaker ECU and throttle/injector (he speaking hokkien when he spoke about this, my hokkien very poor!) and he said those wira <year2000 has a better one with more power. lets say i wanna change this part(s), then is it as simple as replacing the ECU with a better one? or more parts involved, like throttle body, etc??? pls advise, dear sifus!

Googled it and found it as "Fast Idle Control Device"
not much detailed info after that, but sounds like it controls the idling RPM.
i dont understand is, what has this got to do with the power we loss when our compressor turns ON?
dont think it cant bring back the lost power, unless it automatically makes our RPM higher (means engine works harder to compensate)

anyway, this reminds me again about the add-on called voltage regulator. does it help with idling?
