QUOTE(kunamiya @ Jun 18 2009, 02:52 AM) OMG , I already installed the 3.0 software but always get error message when trying connect to the itune server .. always pop-up the message " We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection timed out." "Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. Then try again ." QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Jun 18 2009, 01:47 AM) a lot of the peeps in oz have already completed the installation. ****************************************and some had some troubles activating their officially unlocked units, due to the heavy traffic. just unplug your USB and re-attempt the activation process again. activation requires a stable and secure connection to the apple database, to make sure that it is actually unlocked. try resetting your modem could perhaps help? |

QUOTE(arshad @ Jun 18 2009, 02:18 PM) it has already been "free" to upgrade from day 1.why head all the way to klcc (not to mention the amount of traffic and people that you have to endure) and queue up for a service, when it can be done at the comfort of your home, for "free"? unless you are running into some difficulties which requires intermediate level attention. and personally, i don't like the idea of hooking up my iPhone to another stranger's PC/MAC (given the fact, he can access my P & C information inside) seriously, maxis has really kick-arse (sarcastically) ideas to show that they genuinely care for their customers and is able to provide top notch, first class after sales services. OMG. the "poison" is excruciatingly great.
how i wish that i can abandon my revision and attempt to experiment all these. to make things even worse, i'm facing two ways "poison" from LYN and whirlpool! i sure do hope, that someone will be able to provide a conclusive summary of all these findings in a form of pinned thread, thereafter |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jun 18 2009, 06:51 PM) I may be blind all this while but here goes:- it depends on your previous handsets actually (from my experience)On your iTunes screen, does the section under phone number, finally now lists your actual phone number? Before this it was either labeled "Unknown" or "Unavailable", but now it finally lists down my actual number! If this is old, then I'll just slink into the darkness. my old number, XX04 was used previously on the blackberry pearl and it has the capability to encode your mobile number directly to the sim card. but with my new sim card, it never appeared on the iTunes anymore until today (after i entered the MMS number) This post has been edited by nokia2003: Jun 18 2009, 06:56 PM |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jun 18 2009, 08:35 PM) Just tested another message on "Find My iPhone" feature on MobileMe while at Machines KLCC, saw thus guy walks in with his Maxis-working girlfriend, beaming with pride on his newly purchased iPhone 3G. I just don't have the heart to break it to him that he's buying a lapsed model at this late in the game. OT alert!Kesian........ that is probably not his girlfriend. if i'm allowed to make wild speculations; that maxis-working gal is just baiting/flirting with him, to lure him, in order to purchase an iPhone 3G off her (so that she can meet her quota). you will be surprised to learn that those gals in tight-lacy-bra-exposing-white/green-shirts-clad-in-extremely-short-denim-mini-skirts-with-a-seductive-smile, earn a chunk of commission from maxis. if you are competent enough, you can earn at least rm6000 with ease... Added on June 18, 2009, 8:44 pmi do apologise if my description of the maxis gals is in extreme detail (explicit yes, but that's the truth yo!) QUOTE(davidmak @ Jun 18 2009, 08:46 PM) If I am not mistaken, in the stickies it explains how to enable the rest of menu from cellular data section. Try giving it a read. *cough cough* because these maxis gals always approach me? *more chesty coughs*Wait... how do you know they wear like that? Hahaha competent enough. Is that even a compliment i'm inclined to think, either i'm good looking (like koo tin lok) or mimic a sucker. however, for some apparent reason, i believe it is the latter QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jun 18 2009, 08:49 PM) Lol Nokia and DavidMak, if that is the case, Maxis should be employing better looking seducers-cum-girlfriends, this is absolutely generic looking. aiseh man, that is not good.Go crazy with your BT devices guys! See what else you can pair with your iPhones! Already my Rolly and my Iphone are of best of friends. maxis must be over-employing the gals then (in a desperate bid to clear the old stocks), leading to perceived drop in quality. QUOTE(akchang @ Jun 19 2009, 04:27 PM) Hi Guys, i haven't experimented tethering yet (as i'm stuck with revision), but i can confidently point to you that, the fact that you are using a SingTel unit doesn't imply much. For singtel unlocked iphone3g, do anyone having issue connecting internet tethering with another laptop or pc. I downloaded the v3.0 yesterday at my home using itunes 8.2 and successfully installed everything. The internet tethering works perfect at my home pc..but today i tried connecting thru my office laptop n pc using USB (im using USB to connect at home) it just doesn't work. Turning on/off the iphone tethering doesn't work either or reboot the iphone (pwr+home). Thanks! meaning, it is probably an one-off, unique situation for you. you are better off, listing the previous maneuvers/settings that you have undertaken, if you intend to seek help from the forummers here. |

Able to tether on my work laptop (itunes not installed) via Bluetooth, thanks to the super detailed guidance of my personal tech support a.k.a. tinkerbel. Being able to facebook at work while everyone else is blocked is hell of a lot of fun thanks tink! <3 |

QUOTE(NXaqua @ Jun 19 2009, 05:24 PM) you should, because from my experience of using iTunes, it requires a certain degree of connection stability.therefore, if your browser gets idle from time to time, there is a high chance, that iTunes will not permit activities on its store same rule applies to online casino and betting as well (for obvious reasons) Added on June 19, 2009, 5:27 pm QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jun 19 2009, 05:26 PM) *Update* friendly reminder; it may take a few days for the unlimited data package to be reinstated.Internet Tethering via USB through Vista works (am posting this through it now). QUOTE(mONSTers @ Jun 19 2009, 07:19 PM) Hmm, i'm been on OS 3.0 since the released of GM seed on the first day. i have to refute that underlined statement.Yes, the most noticeable sluggish is the swiping from home screen to Spotlight. And, also if u guys notice that sometimes there's serious lag in keyboard typing. (U can try doing this: fire up Notes, add new notes, start typing once the keyboard appear. This is just 1 particular example and i'm excluding the 3rd party apps as it might be coding efficiency. Besides, the GPS on google map is not as responsive as before, as i'm travelling from one location to another, the blue dot is not able to catch up, not even in near-real time. I cant make conclusion on this yet as i just try it for few times. Hope someone can clarify on this. Perhaps, the new OS 3.0 is running smoothly on the 3GS, due to higher processor speed and ram. currently, i'm sitting in my favourite spot, in the library and prior to 3.0, GPS wasn't able to triangulate my position (the blue dot and not the range scope, induced by the cell towers) and the same in another library. so that's two spots to my surprise, i'm able to triangulate my position (in these two prior spots) now. technical mayhem or sheer fluke? |

I cant make conclusion on this yet as i just try it for few times. Hope someone can clarify on this. that's wat im trying to say, real time GPS tracking. I've admit that now it's able to "locate" ur "current location" faster than before. i travel on the bus/train/tram regularly with my eyes set on the blue dot and it still "feels" the same as 2.2.1 |
