Bro, Petronas maybank cc give me 5x treats points. And many other payment services give multiple points. To get 7000 pts, you need to spend not more than RM2000 in value. Citibank reward points really hard to earn and even harder to redeem because the items to choose are limited. This is from my own experience of using them > 10 yrs.
And citibank still refuse to give unconditional annual fee waiver to me - sucks. And petronas card is free from day 1.

just to share my experience. The maybank people stated that exchanging for items at hotspots would save us 2000 points. So, i went to SOGO to use my treatpoints on Tuesday, sort of just to try it out.

but, when i wanted to exchange with my points, most of them didn't know bout it and some 'brilliant' cashiers were explaining to me how I can get points for purchases; which is not what I was seeking.

Then a sales person told me that I have to go up to the 7th floor to exchange my points to their vouchers and I'll have to come back to 'pay' for my items.

The customer services (7th floor) told me, 10,000 points = RM 50; same as online exchange.

well, that wasn't stated clearly on Maybank website. In my mind, I was thinking it'll be as easy as using points (Citibank reward points for eg.), exchanging items with points AT THE CASHIER.

Is it the same with 1Utama or any other hotspot? any experiences? pls share.

During the entire promotion period (1 Nov 2010 - 15 Feb 2011), PETRONAS Maybankard Visa credit card holders (including PETRONAS Maybankard “Ikhwan” Visa) will be able to get 10X Treat Points every Tuesday for the transactions at PETRONAS stations nationwide.

Actually this might be possible, but its a bit backdoor for maybank to do this, its possible that your spending may be a lot so they are awarding you extra treatpoints to help "settle" the RM 50 tax..do keep us updated on this, I'm curious how this turns out smile.gif

From my understanding of treatpoints is that you have to go to the maybank counters to redeem vouchers either at 1u or their KL branch and perhaps in your case, Sogo I guess. I just redeemed a RM 10 mcdonalds voucher today for 2000 treatpoints, which is less than if you redeem it online, have it delivered to you which costs about 2500 / 2700 points. Do check maybankard.net.my for more details on what you can redeem. 1u is the best place to redeem. Took me < 5 minutes to get it done because got very few customers (i was 2nd in line). Very fast and convenient.

How to redeem your TreatsPoints:

1. Pick your TreatsPoints item or service from maybank2u catalogue
2. Print out and complete the Redemption Form (PDF)
3. Fax it to us at 03-7953 8685

lternatively, you can redeem your TreatsPoints gifts on-the-spot at HotSpots. Benefit from the convenience of instant collection and paying with lower TreatsPoints for the items.

Petronas no longer gives ut petrol vouchers, instead they give out smart cards (like the Smart Pay petrol indent card) with pre loaded values.

It's still 10,000 points for a RM50 petrol card.

Good thing about those cards is that apparently you can reload the card at the Petronas station counter.
