Sorry guys out of topic abit, someone told me for gov service tax RM50 you can call center request to get free points. Example if you hv 6K you can call up to get another 4K points to settle the tax. Anyone try this????

Actually this might be possible, but its a bit backdoor for maybank to do this, its possible that your spending may be a lot so they are awarding you extra treatpoints to help "settle" the RM 50 tax..do keep us updated on this, I'm curious how this turns out smile.gif

just to share my experience. The maybank people stated that exchanging for items at hotspots would save us 2000 points. So, i went to SOGO to use my treatpoints on Tuesday, sort of just to try it out.

but, when i wanted to exchange with my points, most of them didn't know bout it and some 'brilliant' cashiers were explaining to me how I can get points for purchases; which is not what I was seeking.

Then a sales person told me that I have to go up to the 7th floor to exchange my points to their vouchers and I'll have to come back to 'pay' for my items.

The customer services (7th floor) told me, 10,000 points = RM 50; same as online exchange.

well, that wasn't stated clearly on Maybank website. In my mind, I was thinking it'll be as easy as using points (Citibank reward points for eg.), exchanging items with points AT THE CASHIER.

Is it the same with 1Utama or any other hotspot? any experiences? pls share.

From my understanding of treatpoints is that you have to go to the maybank counters to redeem vouchers either at 1u or their KL branch and perhaps in your case, Sogo I guess. I just redeemed a RM 10 mcdonalds voucher today for 2000 treatpoints, which is less than if you redeem it online, have it delivered to you which costs about 2500 / 2700 points. Do check maybankard.net.my for more details on what you can redeem. 1u is the best place to redeem. Took me < 5 minutes to get it done because got very few customers (i was 2nd in line). Very fast and convenient.
