QUOTE(Liang90 @ Sep 25 2009, 11:00 PM)
I'm currently deciding between 2 notebooks, and i need some help in choosing a winner. The 1st choice would be the benq s42, seeing that its so popular, i probably wouldnt have to list down the specs. and the 2nd is the newer lenovo y450 with these specs :

Y450-P8700 (VHP) Nvidia 5902-1662
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz / 1066 MHz / 3MB L2 Cache)
4GB DDR3
DVD Super MultiBurner
500GB SATA
14.1 WXGA LED
GeForce GT 130M 512MB
card reader: 6-in-1
2.5Kgs
6 cell
Wireless: Yes
Bluetooth: Yes
Camera: Yes
VHP
One Key Recovery/ Veriface
1 Year Carry-in (Regional) Warranty

So, as you can see, i'm pretty much going for something which can handle the latest games in at least lower-mid details, have 14" screens and is not too pricey, both cost around the region of 3.5-3.7k. I would very much appreciate your opinions on the matter, and if you guys have any other suggestions that fit my criteria's, i would very much like to hear them. Thanks a bunch.

Toshiba Satelite L510 is currently on Promotion...
It's look attractive:

Free upgrade to 4 GB RAM,
320GB hard disk,
2yrs warranty,
with graphic card,
Ori Home Vista Premium,
Intel Core 2 Duo precessor
@ RM2599.....

Is Toshiba a good brand? I'm alright with the design.

Dell Inspiron 14 if want core 2 duo processor also 2599,
but only 2GB Ram and 1 yr warranty wooo...

any suggestion? Dell still the better choice?
but Dell Inspiron 14 lighter, right?

Added on September 26, 2009, 12:31 pmYa, somemore, Dell is giving normal graphic card only...
*
add rm100 for the basic Dell Studio 15 better...

What is ur budget?
*
QUOTE(litnit @ Sep 26 2009, 05:40 PM)
Hey, I am looking for some budget laptop, which try be around 2.5K, If not, it can up to 3k.

Brand: Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Dell, Lenovo
Processor: Intel C2D, AMD (If heat is not cons)
size: 14-15.4

The specs...I do not have the clear view on the specs as high specs need a lot of $$ so choosing specs would struggle me a lot.  Basically, it is for internet, movie, moderate game, CAD drawing, adobe flash, photoshop, programming...

Hope there is some comment about this..happy.gif

Thanks..

juz the monitor requirement already limit u to Studio 15 pretty much...

most laptops in the market now are either 1366x768 or 1920x1080... seldom u see sth in between...

1) read the spec of the CPU itself... different alphabet and number means different things...

generally speaking, for Intel Core 2...

T = 35W dual core, P = 25W dual core, Q = 45W or higher quad core, SU = 12W or below dual core

6xxx = 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache
8xxx = 1066MHz FSB, 3MB L2 cache
9xxx = 1066MHz FSB, 6MB L2 cache

2) Inspiron 14 is gud enuf... 14z is a CULV... general performance is weaker, but is lighter and has better battery life.. gud enuf for normal day-to-day use...

i would prefer Studio 15 though... if u can stretch the budget to rm2700...

as it says, the prefix only means the power consumed... for performance it's the numbers that shows it...

CULV = Consumer Ultra Low Voltage platform... by performance it's somewhere between netbook and normal laptop...

oohh !!! i got it... thanks...dude.

then, what is the diff between dell inspiron and studio?

As i saw from the dell website, there are 3 models i am considering now.

1. Inspiron 14z RM2349
2. Inspiron 15 RM2399
3. Studio 14 RM2399

which one is better?? prices are also same.
*
Inspiron is more for budget market, while Studio is for mainstream market...

in terms of hardware, Studio is better...

Inspiron 14z is a bit different since it's a CULV...

comparing asus u80v and dell studio 1555, which ones is better?

depends on wat u re looking for...

Studio 15 has slightly better graphic performance, option of higher resolution monitor, and Dell's good warranty...

U80V is smaller and lighter, has longer better life, and default 2yrs int'l warranty...

Hi
need help deciding which one to buy
my budget is around rm1800
i have these 2 in my mind

compaq CQ40-512AU for rm1.5k (offer in tesco till this wednesday)
Acer 4535 for rm1879 (with 2gb ram)

Its for light to moderate game(low end game of course)
wireless internet
college assignment

Im very inclined with that compaq since its very cheap and almost the same spec with the acer
Can the compaq install windows XP? how about heat management?
The acer one have a lot of area where heat can escape
please advice thanks
*
wat's the spec for the 2???
