QUOTE(white_crow @ Mar 11 2009, 02:47 PM) there is customer discount on it...dos it mean existing customer can get it with that price...? 1070 is the discountif so, then the price is quite reasonable for me.... RM100 with 24 month contract get the 16gb version for RM1070... Tempting.....feel like selling off my phone to get 1 d... hahaha... not the price... Check the price beside it |

QUOTE(white_crow @ Mar 11 2009, 02:47 PM) there is customer discount on it...does it mean existing customer can get it with that price...? That's the problem with plans and contracts, users new to to the concept always gets it wrong and confused.if so, then the price is quite reasonable for me.... RM100 with 24 month contract get the 16gb version for RM1070... Tempting.....feel like selling off my phone to get 1 d... hahaha... For your calculation, you DONT get the iPhone for RM1070, you are DISCOUNTED RM1070, you pay RM1890, so the phone actual costs RM1070 + RM1890 = RM2960. With the payment of RM1890, you also sign a 24 months contract, which gets you 667 minutes of talk time and 500MB of data PER MONTH, and if you exceed the 667 minutes of talk time allocation for that month, you pay 15 sen for every minute you talk. SMS counts separately at 10 sen per messages. Geddit? This post has been edited by stringfellow: Mar 11 2009, 02:54 PM |

You need to calculate the Total Cost of Ownership. That way you get the real price of owning the iPhone

My concerns are mainly on the paltry allocation for data. 3GB? My monthly usage alone exceeds those!
Need to dig up Maxis own rate for 3G data. |

I heard from the Maxis consultant, no need to pay anything for this moment. Not sure until when, maybe for those customer who grab it during launch time or for existing customer only..

@stringfellow,
Pay additional RM99 for the unlimited data plan package. But that's over and above the existing rates. |

So finally its here, and...its even more expensive than before.
sigh, in US iPhone is like a household item, anyone can own one. here, they mark up the price until like only rich people can afford an iPhone. |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Mar 11 2009, 02:59 PM) @stringfellow, Danke schoen! I totally forgot about that RM99 package. Urghhh, it sickens me that if I do decide the green light on this, that I have to top up that RM99, ON TOP of whatever nonsense they gave on the 24 months contract. Pay additional RM99 for the unlimited data plan package. But that's over and above the existing rates. |
