how do i differentiate whether its dead/stuck pixel?
its kind of shining like a gold dust, but in silver,
If it still lights up, chances is that it's a stuck pixel.
To fix the stuck pixel, try one of the methods below.
I have to warn you, I have only heard from others about these solutions and I've never tried any of them before.
Do it at your own risk and I have no garantee that any of them will work. If not done carefully, it might even demage your Omnia.A) Pressure method.1. Start by turning off your Omnia.
2. Using your stylus, apply slight pressure on the stuck pixel. Do not put pressure anywhere else than on the defective pixel, or you may break additional ones.
3. While still continue applying pressure, turn on your Omnia.
4. After the screen had lights up, remove the stylus and check (hopefully) whether the stuck pixel is gone.
B) Rubbing method. With the screen on, gently rub the defective pixel with your fingers, and hope that this will reset it.
C) Tapping method.1. Turn on your Omnia and display a completely black picture on your screen. The screen must be turn on.
2) Using your stylus, gently tap on the stuck pixel until it starts working again.
You’ll know if you are applying enough pressure if you are seeing a small, white glow each time you hit the screen.
Again, do these at your own risk. I will not be held responsible for any demages that might occur to you or your device.Hope this helps.
If it work, please add these methods to the first post for others who might need them.
Edit: Alternately, you can download the attached
Fix Pixel.gif and run it on your Omnia for 2 hours or more, WITH THE SCREEN ON.
Do not stare at the screen for a prolong amount of time while the gif is running.Click to enlarge the picture, then right click and choose "Save As".
