Its great that Omnia uses have migrated to the correct section (PDA section). Will work on getting Xperia-ans here as well. Two strict rules that applies here more than handphone section. No warez/piracy talk. And no spam posts please. smile.gif enjoy your stay here.

For starters, Omnia users will wanna check this out

Omnia has its own graphics acceleration drivers akin to Diamond and Touch Pro and can play several Playstation games. Am myself hooked on Final Fantasy tactics on my Touch Pro

WQVGA ----------> QVGA fix for Omnia
Allows most games/apps to be usable on Omnia now!

CREDITS TO COTULLA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455974

This program allow you to change screen resolution.
Program designed mostly for devices with wide screens - 800x480 or 400x240.
(Toshiba G900, SE Xperia X1, HTC Touch HD, HTC MAX 4G)
So if game or program don't work in wide mode you can try it in normal VGA/QVGA mode. Probably it will work.

Installation:
*Copy CAB files to device
*Install SdkCerts.cab first
*Install second cab file
*Do soft reset
*Now you can see WVGAFIX3 in Programs.

Features:
*WVGA VGA SQVGA switch support
*WQVGA QVGA SQQVGA switch support
*You have black unused screen area on screen - no stretching performed.

Supported devices:
*Most devices with WM50, WM60, WM61 and WM65.

Limitations:
*You shouldn't rotate screen if not-original video mode applied.
*If you want use WVGAFIX3 in landscape mode, you should rotate screen in the right side, otherwise you will have touchscreen decalibration.
You should determine "good" side by experimental way.

be careful and avoid chat like unconstructive posts please guys.

refugeez, i believe you are using G Alarm?

"Don't wakeup at midnight

Because of the Windows alarm bug, G-Alarm wakes the device at midnight so Windows Mobile can rebuild its notification queue. If you turn this off by inserting or changing following line in your settings.xml, it may happen that an alarm doesn't go off:

<MidnightWakeUp>False</MidnightWakeUp>"

hope this helps

How much is i900? I'm thinking to buy i900 or touch HD. Which one better? How is the speed of this phone compared to htc touch HD?

in terms of d3d drivers its about the same, main difference is screen resolution. HD has higher res. But also more expensive.

for PIM information, calendar, sms, contacts, the usual, i highly recommend PIM Back up. Its free, and extremely reliable, and we senior PDA owners have been using for ages. and it never fails us. smile.gif

Get it here

Sorry, I just couldn't resist asking  brows.gif

we senior PDA owners by this, do you mean

a) by age
b) by the number of postings
c) by extensive experience in PDA usage

I would very well qualify if it is a)

No malice intended. We all need a break from this hectic world  biggrin.gif

well, i mean as in some of us peeps here who have had a long history with PDAs. like my PDA history in my siggy lol. no offence taken. Fact : Omnia, Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, Touch HD, Xperia, majority of the owners are first time windows mobile people smile.gif

I wonder if Omnian here modified their interface or installed lots of nice softwares/games, perhaps it is good idea to post screenshot to share. It is good exchange tips to improve the userability, especially those first time touch screen users.

i dun have WQVGA, but in the main PDA section, u can do a search for "Today screens", for some UI customization u can do for windows mobile

also try this, its freeware for now

Members noted for piracy talk. Do it again, and actions will be taken.

@the kidz, yea, use advance config, but sometimes advance confix doesnt save it for some reason. if it doesnt work, go back the old fashioned registry edit method

Using registry editor

Show SIM Contacts: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone - create a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 1

or

Try Advance Config

hi guys, im new Omnia user. i have few questions:

1. can anyone teach me to how to use the GPS? wat is the step? i dunno i should click on which program to start to use it. i used to have NOkia, it charge my mobile credit, which i don wish, i see most of my frens using free navigation. can Omnia do it? thanks.

2. i change from LG KS20, how can i transfer the SMS from LG to Omnia? i have quite a lot important SMS. if not possible, got any ways to backup to PC? thanks.

3. i wanna change the scrollbar to thicker one, easier to use. i check one website, it wrote there:

HKLM\System\GWE

wat does this mean and how it works? thanks
4. wat are the main differences for Active Sync 4.0 and 4.5? i haven install 4.5, using 4.0, but still can sync my Outlook. any special function or advantage for 4.5? thanks
when i encounter more problem, i will post it here, hope to have guide from all senior here. thanks
*
Omnia can, but first u need to purchase either Garmin or MApking. then u can proceed from there (free to use after purchase)

2. Use PIM backup. back up your LG. transfer files to Omnia. restore

3. use registry editor

4. active sync, some newer windows mobile cant use the old version. if u can use then no need to change really

PIM back up and registry editor can be obtained here
