Try not holding the treat too high up from where he's sitting...maybe you could also teach him to 'Wait' while you slowly bring the treat to his Down position. If he stands up, get him to sit again and say 'Wait'. Then lure him down with the treat...hope that helps!

QUOTE(red-queen @ Apr 9 2009, 02:40 PM) Some tricks are easier to learn compared to others...it also depends on how we teach the pup. Inconsistencies might cause a bit of confusion at first, but eventually you'll get it when you've taught your dog more. |

QUOTE(Vickie @ Apr 9 2009, 10:33 PM) Hey, i got a question here. Does MS will change fur often? Actually, Schnauzers don't shed at all...or to be politically correct, they shed very little until it is not noticeable. Scottie only 'sheds' when I comb or brush his fur...kind of like when we comb our hair, there will be some falling out. Shedding so much until you can see around the room might be a different thing =\i found my puffy's fur around the room ar... thinking and planning bring her to do full grooming... |

QUOTE(ericyong @ Apr 13 2009, 06:40 PM) i personally think that the salt n pepper actually changes colour along the way... ahahaha... LOL! Actually Schnauzers' fur won't turn lighter in color if we hand strip them like in the confirmation shows. That was supposed to be the way their coats should be, but it's quite a long and tedious process, and not many people know how to do it in Malaysia (the ones that do are too expensive) hence we turn to clippers. Because we clip their coats (ie send to groomers where they shave with the electric clippers), it will cause the color to turn lighter in color.my Fatty started off as very black, then greyish... now brownish... ahahaha... |

Yup...hand stripped coats are harsher and a bit wiry in texture. I read that they last longer compared to clipped coats, meaning that after stripping once, it can last for about 3-4 months...compared to once a month grooming with clippers, it's quite good.
