Let me do a brief review on my new toy, Razer Mamba.
When I receive the mouse in the box I was like ‘Wow…..what a stylish display box!’ and it gives me a feeling like the mouse is been displayed like a fine piece of art work by Michaelangelo’ The picture below shows the box is like a jewelry box with trays at the bottom. You can find charging dock, usb cable and battery with its cover respectively in each tray. 1 bad point here is, the acrylic cover is quite difficult to take out. At least, I need a help from my friend to get it open. Secondly, to detach the mouse from the plastic holder also take me sometime. Maybe I was too cautious to take it out. Next is the ‘holding feel’ of the mouse. Actually, it is quite similar to the less expansive Death Adder. But it has a much more better build. It has an all-black exterior with a top surface coated with rubber. The whole top is coated with rubber, not like the other Razer mouse which only the buttons are rubberized. In fact, this make me a bit worry, coz as you all know, Razer is famous for rubber peeling off. Lets cross our fingers it doesn’t happen huh. When I hold it, the position of the fingers is relaxed and comfortable. The position of the two thumb buttons on the left side of the mouse is easy to reach and they are fairly big. There are 2 more small buttons at the top left of the left click buttons. I will say, these 2 buttons are a bit small, considering my fingers which is quite small also quite difficult to press them correctly, further more it needs a quite deep press. I will say, it will be hard to press while we are ‘kan cheong’ shooting in the FPS game like cs and left 4 dead. Picture speak louder than words, lets see its picture to get a better understanding. Performance wise, I will say Razer is telling the truth. It is perfectly lag free no matter in wired or wireless mode. It doesn't reveal any weaknesses in matters of precision and latency. It has perfect tracking, and doesn’t skip at all. The super high DPI of 5600 give superb sensitivity which you might feel it is over design. Coz to be frank, I can’t get use to it. Probably need some time to learn it well. Anyhow, it gives a very flexible DPI setting. You can set it from 100 to 5600 DPI in the step of 100 DPI. And you also can set a different DPI setting for X and Y axis. Another down side of Mamba is, I find the way they design the mini USB jack make it not flexible, coz it is so unique that other USB cable can’t fit in the mouse. Look at the bottom picture you will get what I mean. Under side of the mouse look like this. 1 on/off button, 1 pairing button and remove cable button. Conclusion, i am very happy with this mouse. No regret spending Sing Dollar 190 on it. This post has been edited by enriquelee: May 20 2009, 08:48 AM |

Try to read reviews from others. You will find Razer actually have this problem.QUOTE(Everdying @ May 19 2009, 11:54 PM) if you have a DA, maybe u should take a pic of both. Yeah, agree. It is mean to prevent it coming out. But I still feel they should take out the L-shape thing. Then we can use any mini USB cable. They can always design a 'clip' kind of thing to make it wouldn't come out. I am so sick with all these cable and charger kind of thing. Hate most when i need to travel. Luckily i found this Zelite |
