@MilesAndMore,
I guess that's true - but the bad thing about Krisflyer for us is that it's gotta be via SG *grins* ; not that Changi airport absolutely can keep me bZ during the transit

Well, Changi is better than KLIA. More shops and their new Terminal 3 is awesome. I can sleep there. LOL !

Now, can I just sign up to become a KrisFlyer member without taking any SIA flights?!

Sure. You can earn Krisflyer miles via their partners.

For Krisflyer, you'll need to pay the taxes
i remembered last year i redeemed a flight to San Fran, original price is RM5000+, after redeem the taxes came out to be RM1200+
For enrich I'm not sure, never redeemed their flight and MAS is always my last choice
If you to pay for the taxes and all the surcharges yourself when redeeming a flight ticket using Enrich.

Of course KrisFlyer (Star Alliance) or even AsiaMiles (One World) is better than enrich (only few other small airlines in the network), the only benefit with MAS is one less transit because they are based in Malaysia.
LOL ! I live in Kota Kinabalu and Singapore is actually nearer than Kuala Lumpur. There are 5 flights a day to Singapore from Kota Kinabalu on certain days. SIA also have newer aircraft and top notch inflight entertainment system. So it makes total sense for me to choose to fly with them whenever i go overseas

Secondly, the bonus point expire every 3 yrs. They forefeited my 15000 pts when I was busy in overseas. Recently, I redeemed a voucher. I asked them to send it to my hse but they charged courier fee which was shown in the bill statement of the following mth!
Just like CIMB Mastercard. Their reason to charge us the courier fee because their credit card is free-for-life is an absolute nonsense. Almost all banks now offer free-for-life credit card nowadays. You just have to ask for it. Silly CIMB

Well yea, they don't have evergreen points like HSBC or Citibank. You probably should have kept track and redeemed before you went.
HSBC rewards is not evergreen. It is valid only 2 - 3 years.

Think of it as an elite Gold card, slightly short of a platinum card or an entry level Plat card for the younger generation.
Standard Chartered Titanium Mastercard and Platinum credit card both need at least an annual salary of RM60k to qualify but the former is much more interesting.
