the only loan i am aware of is my car loan which i paid on time every month. Anyway I just applied for the affin bank cc last month which i submit details like 3 month salary slip, EA form, bank statement, etc and got approved. so i dont think i got a bad record at CCRIS?

Better go to Bank Negara to check your CCRIS record.

QUOTE(skincladalien @ Apr 22 2009, 01:39 AM)
anyway my goal of getting a credit card is done, affin bank used 3 weeks to approve while citibank used about 5 weeks to reject. Initially i was afraid that the affin bank one wont approve so get a sub card cuz i heard its easier to get, now its totally opposite laugh.gif
*
So you've been rejected for a credit card by Citibank very recently ? Hye is right. Usually people will have no problem applying for a supplementary card.

shocking.gif  Now that you mention it, I check MBB CC website and is true. Revised from RM18k p.a. to 30k  blink.gif

I guess it is good to filter out unnecessary risk for the bank.
*
Good for them. Very smart of Public Bank not to focus and invest too much on their credit card business. Look at the credit card mess at Bank of America now ohmy.gif

yea, I noticed the 150k minimum income for SCB Visa Infinite, too bad my salary is not there yet
as for RHB, forget it

Hye said in the latest "Standard Chartered Priority Banking" flyer it is stated that all "Priority Banking customers" will get a complimentary VISA Infinite now rclxms.gif

2) TMPoint should accept cc,
Yes. TMPoint does accept VISA or Mastercard.

The Maybank staff link it for me, when ever I swap my credit card, it will direct deduct my amount from my saving account.
Not sure whether I can use for ATM to withdraw money using my credit card.
*
Are you sure you are on a credit card ? Or it's the Maybank VISA debit card. The card with cherry design.

QUOTE(Dozz @ Apr 22 2009, 08:52 PM)
just recieved my Visa Infinite card from SCB smile.gif

Juz get my CIMB MasterCard... laugh.gif

hmm.gif VISA good or MasterCard good?
*
Congrats ! Use it wisely and never withdraw cash advance. Both are more or less the same.

QUOTE(bingozero @ Apr 22 2009, 10:22 PM)
Its depend, some of the merchant accept master didn't accept visa, or vice versa  smile.gif
Actually i have not been on a situation where a merchant only accept VISA and not Mastercard or the other way around. Usually in Malaysia if they do accept credit card as a mode of payment, then almost 100% they will definitely accept your VISA or Mastercard. Only AMEX (American Express), JCB (Japan Credit Bureau) and Diners Club are not accepted by certain merchants.

QUOTE(Zack Styler @ Apr 22 2009, 10:49 PM)
Well its better to have both, in case either one of the systems went down, or the merchant did not accept one of them.. smile.gif
*
Agreed.

I m SCB Priority Banking Cust, so am eligible for this card and free waiver for 3 years smile.gif
*
WHAT ? Just three years ? How stingy of them ! Did you ask your RM if you can definitely get another 3 years free when you renew your VISA Infinite three years later and still a Priority Banking customer ?

Yes, I apply this card because of this unlimited lounge entries smile.gif one more thing, for SCB Visa Infinite card, you can earn 5X points for oversea transaction and 5x points for all transaction anytime anywhere during your birthday month.

FOr example, if your birthday is on July... then the whole july you will earn 5x points plus if you are abroad, you will earn another 5x... total 10x points smile.gif

attractive?
*
Couldn't be anymore attractive ! rclxms.gif

But i guess the unlimited lounge entries wouldn't appeal to those who fly Business or First Class or those with Star Alliance Gold and Oneworld Emerald status.

Eh ? Didn't know you can apply a CIMB Bank credit card via mail or email. Last time when i helped mom to apply was told to bring all the relevant documents to any CIMB Bank branch so their staff can verify all the documents before they mail it to their card centre.

HSBC Amanah is indeed under different management team since it's a Islamic based CC. It should be under HSBC Islamic Bank. Conventional HSBC CC is under HSBC Bank. I don't see a problem of applying additional conventional CC on top of HSBC Amanah.
*
Indeed HSBC MPower Credit Card-i is issued and governed by HSBC Berhad wholly owned subsidiary, HSBC Amanah Berhad.

QUOTE(ellimist @ Apr 26 2009, 09:50 PM)
Just out of curiousity, why want to move from Amanah to the regular?
*
Most probably because of the perks offered. Many promotions and privileges do not apply to HSBC Amanah credit card. Shame ... sad.gif

Stupid PBB, charged rm8 for atm silently... Haven't used that account the past year, time to close it...
*
sign0006.gif Anyway, Public Bank is not the sole bank charging RM8 for an ATM card. CIMB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, RHB Bank, AMBank, Alliance Bank, EON Bank, UOB Bank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC all charge RM8 to those who have an ATM card issued once a year. Only Maybank and Citibank ATM card is annual fee free.

Not with Public Bank. Other banks will let you close your account for free after 3 months from opening. Anyway, wouldn't be a problem for me as it is the only local bank account i'm holding and will never close it. So i won't have to worry about being charged RM10 biggrin.gif

1 month after public bank approved my hire purchase, then i received their gold cc, delivered by hand to my house.

is that 'normal'? i didnt applied for the cc. perhaps they use my hire purchase application & automatically applied for me? n using my ic intended for the hire purchase indiscriminately to apply for the cc? hmm.gif
*
It is a complimentary card for borrowing money from them. They offer a Gold complimentary credit to most of their hire purchase and home loan customers. My aunt has one.

Im an expat. I tried to get a credit card in CIMB and the lady at the counter told me something about Fixed Deposit of 5000 Malaysian Ringgits once my application has been approved. I asked her to explain to me what the fixed deposit is for but I dont think she speaks english that much:( I was hoping someone in here could explain it to me clearly.
There are other banks don't need you to do have a time deposit with them. Might as well try other banks.

Depends on the staff processing your application. Certain staff will ask you if you are interested applying for a EON Bank credit card while some won't even bother to ask.

Hi there, anyone can recommend me which cc to apply for as my condition below:-

annual income above 70K
tax payer for above 3 years
annual tax payable around 5-6k
current age 20+
clean background
no black listed and all

But most of my cc's application couldnt succeed sad.gif
*
Any big outstanding loan ? Or you're a guarantor of some big loans ? Have you paid a visit to BNM to check your CCRIS ? A paycheck above 70k per annum is way above the minimum criteria to qualify for a credit card. Unless there is something seriously wrong or else i can't think of any reason why banks kept rejecting your application.

And i believe their Puchong branch opens at night on certain days too.

wat do u mean by use another CC to apply for it?
*
Since it is a roadshow, they won't expect you to bring your 3-month payslip, EPF statement or Income Tax Form with you. So the other alternative to apply for a credit card is to use an existing credit card that you have used 6-month to 1 year. Most banks will ask for your credit card that you have used for AT LEAST 1 year though. Very few banks accept 6-month old credit card but there are still banks accepting it. You just have to ask.
