QUOTE(darklight79 @ May 22 2009, 11:53 AM) I don't Crossfit but I'd like to try it out. Besides getting big and strong, I also want to run a marathon. I lived with a triathlete throughout my second year of study (semi-pro won half Ironman 70.3 in his age group) and as much as he likes to say that he wishes to lift as much as I can, I wish that I could run as far and as fast as he can. Somehow looking huge and jacked is not my primary goal. I wanna be strong and fast so I've always wondered if Crossfit can offer that. Nope, I don't Crossfit and I haven't tried it either. I doubt I'd want to as well considering how expensive or exclusive Crossfit-equipped gyms are. Moreover, I'm quite determined to get my squats up at the moment. /conflicted.

Power transfer from the ground to the arms. Gutted that United loss. Will be drowning my sorrows tonight.

QUOTE(iamyuanwu @ May 28 2009, 11:13 AM) Like pizzaboy says, it's all rhetorics. Whether you lift or not is more important then whether the leg drive works or not. Have you tried? When leg drive works, you will never have it any other way. Use it to persevere for that rep and you'll never forget how amazing it is.

QUOTE(ayoi86 @ Jun 1 2009, 05:15 PM) hai guy.. i need to ask this really important question regarding whey protein supplement.. lets say if i'm taking 3 scoops of scivation whey a day which sum amount of the protein is 66gram.. n lets just say my workout intensity is moderate like 3 times workout a weak.. so,is there a possibility of overloading my body with protein which in long run will damage my kidney and liver? thanks... Of course you would have diet on top of that 66grams so it's not just 66grams of protein a day I'm sure. There are people taking in excess of 200grams from many sources.

I need to find a gym to meet up with my mate for some weekend get-together, but I'm already subscribed to a gym (family membership at some club).
Is my best option Gym Rakyat? Where would be the best Gym Rakyat to go to that is almost equidistance between Kelana Jaya and Happy Garden/Sri Petaling (worlds apart I know)

Losing bfat and building muscles at the same time requires careful consideration and diet.
I wouldn't recommend doing HIIT on the same day as you are lifting. You are okay doing it on rest days. Due to the intensity of HIIT, 3 times a week is as much as I would do in a week.

Hi guys, any gym near Kelana Jaya that has a monthly or 3-month membership that isn't too expensive with not-so-crowded power racks? (I was thinking True Fitness Hartamas or Jaya-33 near Section 17).
The power rack at the gym I go to is bouncy, and I can't squat away from the rack because there's no space away from the rack (don't ask, odd set up with walls and pillars).
Thanks.
Added on July 4, 2009, 12:52 amI remember now that there is a Fitness Network @ Centrepoint! You guys had a gathering there, right?
HOW WAS IT? Good enough? # of power racks? Hammer Strength machines?

Fitness Network has a power rack and a bench. But they only have 1 bar If anything they should have 3 bars, a rack and a bench. Oh well. The weights are also limited (only a set of 20kg, and the rest are oddly in lbs).

Thanks guys! Would love to be training with you jamis but that place is too expensive for my short term stay!
Added on July 5, 2009, 2:13 am@Lynx: Is it easy to find? I can't find any info online. I believe the place is Seksyen 13? Got an address or number I can use?
Cheers.

First off, I remember having to hold your breath through the rep and exhale only as you complete your ascend (with a grunt, if you have to). This keeps your back tight throughout the motion. Take a deep breath, down, come up and exhale as you complete. A tough core is essential for maintaining a proper squat and breathing out at the end of the motion keeps tightness in tact. So I doubt it's anything wrong with your breathing. I recall reading this on Rippetoe's Starting Strength. My close mate called me one day out of the blue and told me he had a sharp pain in his head like you did after he squatted. He just left the gym immediately. I told him to get to the doctor's if it was concerning him. What you're getting is "Weightlifter's Headache" Here's a thread on bb.com talking about it. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=110736231Keep it safe bro. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier!
