How old are you? How tall and how much do you weigh? If its too much then adjust the weights. Go heavy, but not too heavy.

Whats the proper form for lateral raises? Heard somewhere that you have to bend the dumbbells forward slightly (not parallel) so your thumb is facing the floor. Is that so?

Yea totally agree with darkie, if you go too heavy and low reps, usually you'll exhaust other muscles before you even get to hit the one's you're targeting.

If you feel pain at your wrist area between 40-50lbs, why are you still continuing? Cuz obviously thats not the objective of presses. You can't make such a drastic change in weight, its the same example as your deadlift, if your lower back can take 150kg, doesn't mean your quads, or grip can. If your pecs can take the weight of 50lbs, doesn't mean your wrists or triceps can. shakehead.gif
I started out pressing 22lbs about a year ago when I first started, now I'm only pressing 45lbs. 10 x 3sets incline, 10 x 3 sets flat.

Btw you can do 280kg leg presses but not 70kg squats? Very weird indeed. Maybe you could do more squats?

Not trying to shoot you down bro, just giving friendly advice, same goes from all the other forumers.

Take it slow.Er.

Good. Lol. My personal favorites are bent over barbell rows, and upright rows (dumbbell or EZ bar). Really gets teh muscles.

It varies for different people. Bodybuilding is all about feel, so just try both ways and do whichever way that gives you more muscle tear and better pump. I prefer dumbbells myself though. Barbells for compound usually. smile.gif

70% or 80% of ur 1RM 10 x 10 squats is insane. I think 50 or 60% is damn tough already. shakehead.gif

Hey just wanna ask, is it ok to take creatine without taking whey? Cuz creatine is cheaper and its the only thing I can afford for now. My protein intake from food is slightly above moderate I guess.

I'm not getting enough tho. Not reaching the 1g protein for 1lb weight yet. Moderate as in around 90g's- 100g's a day. Cuz most people opt for whey rather than creatine.

Crazy... you don't expect a beginner to squat her bodyweight, let alone squat with proper form.

I started at 60kg, took 2 small tubs of whey, 1 ON Serious Mass, and not taking protein supplements ever since. Am 76kg now. I don't think many ppl will stop wanting to take protein supps cz they are convenient, the limiting factor is cash.

No money, no muscle.

I'm 18 and I can bench 80kg. I'm 5"10. But I don't like Barbell bench like darkie, dumbbell bench FTW.

While we are on the topic of leg pressing, my gym leg press machine is kinda weird. Its like u have to keep one leg straight while the other leg presses. As in there's two "pressing thingies" instead of one. And the angle of the body lying down bruises my traps everytime. Cz my traps are the only thing keeping me from being pushed back. Anyone's gym's leg press machine is like that?
