I guess you're using Palit GTX260 Sonic based on your signature? how's the fan noise despite it is on heavy load? I'm abit sensitive towards noise now as I have had OTES on my GeForce Ti4200 previously. Feels like throwing my PC out from my room when I'm about to sleep tongue.gif
Which is why I'm not really sure which one to get though. Perhaps the better support in terms of driver would attracts me the most. How about Gigabyte GTX260? If I'm not mistaken, Gigabyte has 3 years warranty on its most products. My 9600GT has it smile.gif
*
yes, im using it smile.gif the fan will be very loud just after u switch on pc then quickly revert to normal speed
till now the noise level is ok for me, the noise level during heavy load is similar to idle condition sweat.gif
btw, i played crysis at all high settings on resolution 1280x720 (cannot very high setting bcoz of windows xp sweat.gif )
the gtx 260 still quiet enuf for me, wont affect gameplay smile.gif

btw, the gigabyte gtx 260 is ok, also 216sp, just it is in default speed
i choose palit just bcoz cheaper, newer, pre-oc, & also reliable only
gigabyte's gtx 260 abit expensive for me tongue.gif

nice smile.gif may I know what is the pre-oc'ed speed for your Palit GTX260? also, may I know what do you mean by reliable? tongue.gif

not sure about the exact price of Gigabyte GTX260 though.. but yea, I notice that Gigabyte products is abit expensive compared to other brands.
*
graphic clock 625Mhz
processor clock 1348Mhz
memory clock 1100Mhz

my "reliable" means many forumers think it is good lo tongue.gif and also this gc has many reviews in some tech sites
btw, Asus's gc more expensive brows.gif

@Nidzamputra

Nvidia PhysX is quite useless thing dun really waste time to bother it .  Since GTX260 already got build in PhysX already so you no need spent more money on buy another 9600GT act as physX.

So far the games Nvidia PhyxS got support is these list only: (Newest List)

So does the games u play inside the list? if not then dun bother this Phyxs
*
do u included console games in above list??
GoW2 still not in pc yet & Gundam rarely has pc games

what card is yours?

that why i'm asking here about my temp...not confident with my reading...
*
mine is palit gtx 260 sonic

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Apr 23 2009, 11:28 PM)
what casing you're using?

For me, idle roughly 44celcius when auto downclock. During gaming around 66celcius max.

My idle fan speed set to 65%

Btw no aircond environment.
*
ops, i 4got to mention that my fan speed is default 40%
so, basically temperature is higher than yours

Well you can't compare Palit GTX260 Sonic and Galaxy GTX260 cause both are using different board. Palit choose to strip down the production cost by using alternative voltage controller chip and cheaper quality PCB board. Reference board is black colour and uses reliable voltage controller.

If Palit GTX260 Sonic vs Galaxy GTX260+ OC tri fan, i would happily take the galaxy even is no longer being a reference board but pack with a very good third party cooler.

Everybody praise Palit for being very cheap, but the market price gap has close so tight that Palit is not really a good choice to get it with cutting cost materials.

The lowest and reliable is still Galaxy GTX260+ from robycom at RM 690  smile.gif which uses reference board and cooling, easily hit 700mhz core like previous owner piumiu mention before.
*
well, i dunno all the info tat u have mentioned sweat.gif
i choose it just bcoz i can get the best gc with my budget on tat time
btw, im normal user only, not like u guys oc urs cpu & graphic card
as long as i feel happy with it, its ok aredi thumbup.gif

that's a rather sad fact. all 55nm GTX 260 are using the intersil controller thingy rather than volterra. that means u can't control the core voltage through riva tuner. but can still change the vcore in the bios smile.gif
*
is that mean if i oc my gtx 260, i cannot adjust core voltage thru riva tuner & have to change thru bios??
is it 65nm version only has better oc result than 55nm?? blink.gif
