In my case, download speed is quite ok but when browsing, some websites become extremely slow. Normally wasnt like that. Plus, the facts that i use huge cache doesnt help to speed things up.

Another empty promise from celcom. BS from the CS...

OMG! That's like a flock of blue vultures preying on ppl. Celcom has indeed geared up its campaign. There is a shift of interest from providing quality service to racing wif new competitor Digi. Some or not most of these new subscribers will find their way here soon enuf. After they call up the CS for numerous times.

Upload speed still terrible. Dun bother asking anymore... Total bullocks from CS. Jump ship time, every1.

Thanks to fruitie for these pics. Not that bad for camera phone. Quite clear.

So far, me, kelv13 n suriah still have upload problems. But we r all have backup connections thus we can post here. Other celcom subscribers dun have other connections so i think, it may take awhile for them to rant here.

I passed thru MV KTM station today. There were like 5 promoters of celcom bb too. They like to stop ppl n promote there. Blocking the way. Like the station is not crowded enuf. Also really like to bash them n tell ppl the truth but ppl wont believe unless they try their own. Most ppl think we give bad feedback to prevent them to "enjoy" celcom bb. After all, celcom put lots of effort n money on ads so ppl kinda get brainwashed. The only way to convince them is to let them try their own. See for themselves. Experience first hand.

Try to update the situation later in the noon. Also waiting for more reports from fellow users.

LOL! At last, can use avatars. But not using celcom, obviously.

Yeah, it makes sense. They are not here probably due to the difficulty in posting here. This shows the upload speed is still as bad as then. So much more for the rectification, perhaps it is just a tactic to convince the users. They do seen like testing the users' patience, see how many complaints they can make. laugh.gif

Well, experience proves all. Most probably, we can see more users from Malacca to complain here soon. The RM 88 Huawei USB modem undeniably, an irresistible temptation.

True, celcom has all kinds of promotions n packages to satisfy different demands. Some light users may want daily or weekly access. Regular users wif monthly access. Now wif reduction in modem price... Sure can attract more subscribers. Given that their campaign is way bigger than any other providers, no surprises that more ppl r using celcom. But that number doesnt reflect the quality of celcom bb.

If there is a website where broadband providers in malaysia r assessed thoroughly n without bias, celcom bb is rite there, below all other wireless bb. Especially after these few months' poor service quality.

What the bloody hell, i was doing my work when all of a sudden there was no internet, this has going on for the past 1 week during 12:00 to 2:00am or so. If there is maintanence why couldnt they just email or give me a call and inform me earlier on.
*
I had encountered this once. I think yesterday or 2 days ago. The infamous 0kbps download. Dun think i encountered it often this week. Just now I used celcom, download speed still ok. Upload of coz bad. Terrible! Maybe now download speed is 0kbps again. Dun care to switch back to celcom. No point...

I wonder wad r the reactions of new subscribers when faced by this 0kbps problem. Surely call the CS asap n get tricked by maintenance or upgrade works. Call till cannot tahan then find this thread. By then, it would be too late.

Ya, bro. Unlimited usage. Use till u drop. Digi EDGE is slower but at least it is really unlimited n far more stable than celcom service atm.

Well, beta check whether this daily or weekly prepaid is ok during 12 midnite to 4 in the morning. There have been reports that monthly unlimited connections r terminated during those hours. The infamous 0kbps download problem. Lets give it a nickname for added effects, like the 0D (read Zero D) effect. As for upload problem, UP, how that sounds? Coz typing upload problem n all kinds of problems celcom make is becoming more than a toll...

Can u do the honor to test the 0D for prepaid service, toiletbowl?

As for Digi EDGE, the speed is dependent on ur area. But most of the time, I get about 18-22KB/s. Never care to speedtest. Trauma after using celcom broadband... At least it is beta than the capped speed of D68 or D98, which r 7-8KB/s or 13-15KB/s.

What? So monthly unlimited connections are terminated for four hours? What's the point of this, anyway? shakehead.gif

Wanting to switch to other BB but I'll hold it until I'm convinced they're better than Celcom
*
From wad i heard, it is about 3-4 hours. May be longer coz i dun think anyone want to stay up late just to constantly reconnect...
Well, try other bb first. See n evaluate ur options. U may not noe the strength of other providers if not giving them a try. Maxis, Digi or U-Mobile r far more stable than celcom for the last 2-3 months. I chose Digi EDGE coz it gave me constant speed. Celcom may be fast within 5GB quota but after that, it loses. If u covered by U-Mobile, it is beta from wad i heard. Fast n stable. Maxis has improved over last few months n pretty much gave good connections. But may not be good for ppl who P2P coz they block P2P most of the time.

LOL! Dun think the problems will stop. So far satisfied with my new EDGE. Celcom is getting worse every day. That's wad happen when they refuse to constantly maintain their network wif new upgrades. All they do just suck money n wait to see the service to deteriorate.

A quiet nite... Guess most celcom users still got 0D or UP problems... Lucky jump ship at rite time. Was hesitating a week ago but i guess u cant never go wrong leaving celcom as all other services r one way or another beta than celcom... So much for being the pioneer...

Well, nothing can be done for now. Celcom monopolizes the market based on its wide coverage n massive ads campaign. To be honest for them to change is to force them. Celcom users seem to be unable to make an impact on this circumstance as celcom often ignores the complaints or feedback from users. This leaves one last option. Let the other operator take over the market n wake celcom up. Celcom top ppl will realise the need to improve once their profits go down. As of now, celcom has gained 300% growth on customer base for its bb service, which is impressive. Had side-effect though. Now celcom abandon its upgrade n focus more on ads to gain even more ppl. No way this reluctance-to-improve will ever cease as long as celcom is "printing" money.

For those wif only celcom around, they will have to endure wif celcom or leave celcom for good. I have wasted RM196 for last 2 months using celcom. That's RM196 celcom earns without providing me any decent service at all. Multiply that wif around 220k celcom users, that is over RM20 - RM30 millions of estimated gross profit.

think of switching to digi edge. btw, the rm66 per month, how is the speed?
*
It differs from area to area. Depends on the user count in ur area. Try it using ur prepaid digi first. See how the connection. If u ok wif it, then go for it. The good thing about it is constant n stable speed. Celcom is faster if not more than 5GB but is slower than Digi EDGE if more than 5GB FUP quota... So if u use more than 5GB a month, i think it is a good alternative, at least temporarily if u like.

Meanwhile look for other providers. I believe U-Mobile n Maxis r good too. Digi 3G will take awhile to cover wide area.

I honestly dun think this is a problem of congestion within celcom network. How can the network suffers so many problems within these last 2 months or so? Even if there is congestion, ppl will only feel slower speed than usual. No complete "shutdown" where nothing can be done at all like the 0kbps download speed or one-digit upload speed. Doesnt make sense. It is not like celcom is accepting 100k users a month. Just my 2 cents.

Fair usage policy is often not fair. How to define fairness in usage? Provider will set the minimum while user will want the maximum. All providers should be guided by certain laws or guidelines to determine the fair usage policy. Users should have a say on it. Or the FUP is constantly revised every year to maintain satisfaction. After all, all humans r greedy. We also want more...

LOL! fatgurl was here to promote the new prepaid service. Dun think she want to answer all the frustration in this thread. She would rather lay low for now.

Well, i believe celcom should at least warn the users about the maintenance. I mean they can utilise SMS to warn ppl about excess usage. But y dun they warn ppl about the maintenance? Irresponsible rite? They expect the users to follow the rules while they themselves dun follow... Ironic!!!

Been awhile since the last time i'm here. Gotta say surprised to see the dissatisfaction level drop pretty fast. It seems that there r still some problems in certain areas.

LOL! I terminated my line yesterday since i cant see any improvement in service. Will keep on using DiGi EDGE for now n assess other options whenever possible.
