what week production of your iphone TS.?
mine was 88906 from serial number and it on week 06 which is around 14 feb something like that, i try to upgrade to firmware 2.2 but it failed with error of 1013 ( it means that the firmware pre installed is more than 2.2 which will be 2.2.1, ) anyway try to read and unocked it by your self because it will be more fun if you know now how to unlocked it, those link sifu david inform you have a complete guide on how to unlocked it.. please remember not to update to firmware 2.2.1 because it will make you baseband become 2.30.03 and you cant use yellowsn0w to unlock it. cheers. Taka Added on February 23, 2009, 10:00 pm@ pelvin.. O2 dont offer service like that. This post has been edited by TakanoKyohei: Feb 23 2009, 10:00 PM |

QUOTE(gidson @ Mar 14 2009, 11:34 AM) Hi there, I'm afraid downgrading to Fw 2.2 will not help you as your baseband is at 2.30.03 (Fw 2.2.1). You need to use hardware sim unlock. Look for crxr to purchase a rebel sim unlocker to get your phone working. My iphone is now 2.2.1 firmware, after i done all the jailbreaking 2.2.5 My carrier (maxis) not working. I cannot post much as i'm curretly typing via the 3g network. But AFAIK you have gotten yourself an expensive ipod touch. Your only temporary solution is to purchase a sim card adapter.
The next time, please do some background reading prior to. |

Wait a minute, wont the bootloader overwrite the whatever current baseband? So it isnt really that hard to downgrade the phone right? If that fail, you can always try the riskier move by crashing your phone and rebuilding it from ground up using ziphone. It helps of course if you have a spare iphone to try it on first

Once baseband upgraded, there's no turning back. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/926641 |

Ah I see, i guess you cant flash the baseband like the old ignorant days. If i'm not mistaken, the old ziphone software overwrite the baseband right? so i think you can probably do the something similar to this newer phones. Of course I realise the risk of it being permanently bricked is like 50-50.
Oh well, thats what you get for being out of the game for too long. The last time i did a jailbreak was last year. Time to catch up... |

Thank you for not misleading TS or giving TS unnecessary false hopes. TS will end wreaking his locked unit (believe me)

FYI, most o2 iphone now comes with 2.2.1 firmware with 2.30.03 baseband.
so you can only unlock with rebel sim or any piggyback sim that works with the baseband. I just purchased it and found out all new iphones are on new baseband and decided to return it. |
