Here is a comparison of the FC in petrol.

ESSO > CALTEX > Petronas > SHELL

For my Nissan, Esso gives the best mileage and best engine peak power.
Petronas does give modest results of FC, but pickup can be bad.

If possible avoid Shell at all cost. But then again, like I said, Petronas is just "so-so", sometimes near to the borderline of SHELL

Seems like there are ppl who use Petronas & feel that it can run more KM compare to other petrols...Anyway, I can compromise with its quality like no power when pick-up, as long as it save my $$$ smile.gif

I have used petronas and shell and I' say that Shell gives more kilometer than petronas. the problem is that theres no shell in my area, so have to use petronas instead.. laugh.gif

For me i will pump BHP n PETRONAS alternatively. BHP really save, but lack power. PETRONAS more power but noisy, so cant use too often. The nearest petro station near my house is Shell, but really give BAD FC!

actaully wat my fren told me is that some petrol/brand/station/supplier will mix some of their petrol with other thing so they have more petrol to sell..which ended up u can see the different on the car..if u get the pure petrol..then u can feel ur car got more power..got more km lor..

Imho i dont think calculating your extra mileage to about 10km is something great.
everyday we drive, we face different traffic situation.

so its hard to exactly calculate unless you drive the same route everyday with the same pattern when you press gas and same traffic.

for me, if i pump full tank, if i get around 20 km more mileage then can consider la..anything less is irrelevant to me

For a typical Kelisa (no modd):

Petronas gives more KM, but engine is somehow very noisy

Shell gives a smoother drive, quieter engine, and better aceleration

Esso/Mobil gives smooth drive but less KM and power compared to Petronas

BHP similar to EssoMobil but 1st few tanks, engine knocking appeared! doh.gif

So, Shell is best for a spirited drive where u can zoom here, zoom there.. Petronas is for KM, while EssoMobil and BHP is for collecting points~ laugh.gif

*tests done over 4 year period~ blush.gif But the new shell super + economy formula didn't try yet~ doh.gif

Not necessary~ tongue.gif

Fuel is cheaper but is not as pure, so mileage may not be as good.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Btw, if u change stations regularly (Shell-->Mobil-->BHP-->Shell-->Petronas)..FC will be very very bad! shocking.gif

sometimes, same brand but different dealer also different quality of petrol..last time i heard some dealer want to earn extra, they mix petrol with kerosene..i dunno bout now, but i experienced a very bad car performance using petronas, but after refill at another petronas station, the performance of my car improves...

hurm... looks like different ppl hav different thoughts of each petrol...
well im driving a 1.3 m perodua myvi...

if mileage is the factor
Caltex > Esso > Shell > Petronas

if pick-up is the factor
Petronas> Shell > Esso > Caltex...

so here we can say the more milage the fuel can give the less pick-up it will provide... maybe its the theory that "heavy" fuel burn slowly..[less pick-up more milage]

so for now i stick to shell... its the best of both world...

From my personal experience Petronas bad mileage and bad pick up power sweat.gif . I been using Petronas on my Myvi 1.3 for 6 months. Managed to get only 420km to 440km (If miraclelah). And the pickup need to step quit deep then only got the pickup. Also there customer service Majority no manners. After that my dad recommended me Esso. Using it for 4 months only then i channel Shell V-Power. Big differents. Been using for 2 years plus (Shell V-Power), millage 530KM++( 60% city & 40% highway) and beautiful pickup power. I think if 75% highway can go till 650KM+. When warm up my car every morning, no funny2 smells came out unlike Petronas and Esso. Planning to stick with Shell forever. Somore their customer service excellent, very helpful, fast respond, neat place and nice place to hang out if got MD. Shell Rules thumbup.gif

petronas is more campro-friendly .
esso is not so friendly to campro , low end power seems to be lesser .
