QUOTE(Rhadykall @ Mar 12 2009, 07:09 AM) Personally, I don't believe in favourites when talking about knockout competitions. Like earlier, if Inter had taken their chances, we could have been sent packing. Also, the fact that the rest of the English teams in the competition aren't considered makes it rather ridiculous don't you think? Especially when Chelsea were our Finals opponent last season, not Barca.Last year, Barca not a favorite..due to team struggle and rijkaard issue. but still manage to semi. and IF Barca win Copa Del Rey after this..its not our fault if media favorite us as one of the title contender..alongside with MU.

yea, i dun believe in seedings as well. for example, Porto could have reached Semi if drawn against Villareal, while hoping the big guns to kill each other off. and another thing, if NO English teams meeting this round, high chance of all English even for Semis, provided someone beat BM and Barca. that would be classic then all semi ties are to be played in England, and Final can consider to move to Wembley la, since Roma got fans problem This post has been edited by pyroboy1911: Mar 12 2009, 09:47 AM

Once again the events of the past two days have shown the utter dominance of English clubs when it comes to the big games in Europe. Three English teams swept aside their Italian counterparts last night, leaving no more representation of that country in the tourney, and another English club left the Spanish champions in the dust. I expect the big guys upstairs (the senile authorities) to go on a rant about how its "unfair" and "unhealthy." Heres a case in point. United started the game last night with four Englishmen (Rio, Scholes, Carrick, Rooney) and another two Brits (O Shea, Giggs). Inter? Only the young Santon was flying the local flag for them if I wasn't mistaken. Of coz, things like these will be overlooked by them Anti-England "geniuses."
Could we be seeing another all English final here? Might not see it, but I have a pretty funny feeling that we'll be seeing at least one English team make it to Rome. Who do I want to meet? Meeting Pool will be fantastic (but that'd be reserved for the finals I guess)
Added on March 12, 2009, 10:08 amAnyone saw Montella's penalty last night? Had me in stitches watching it in slow-mo. Graceful like a ballet dancer.

Yeah but so far I have seen alot of improvements in all these hooliganism. Infact, our records in term of our hooliganism are very good. Even during world cup I've seen alot of improvements and decrease in all these (England fans).

Hooliganism has been decreasing, but during the WCs, the host country have been refusing the known hooligans into their country, therefore you dont see them around lately. But another hypothesis I came up with is: England have been performing so well in the international stage, hooligans just don't bothered roughing up other teams.
