For all you romantics out there... Given the potential clash between ME1 and ME2 love interests in Mass Effect 3, what cat fight would you like to see?

QUOTE(JuzJoe @ Feb 2 2010, 01:59 AM) Here is what I think is a gameplay design flaw in ME2; it's my rant about how lots of the powers in ME2 are kinda gimped in ME2. i think the game is pretty balanced. You can bind your team's skill to your skills. If shields are your problem, overpower them, fire a couple of times then pull and blast. I agree for most part of what you said, I just finish recruiting my 1st set of dossiers as a Vanguard and I find myself behind cover most of the time. Charging into a target with other hostile nearby firing at you is basically suicide, what's worst is that if that target has shield or armor on that target doesnt gets knock down. Knowing that this power is already a high risk move, Bioware should atleast make this power a guarantee knock-down on that particular target. To add more salt to the wound, charge puts other skills on cooldown, making you unable to defend yourself from enemy fire. IMHO, Vanguards are total crippled in ME2, they are basically gimped soldiers without an assault rifle. The only time i see myself playing as a vanguard like it suppose to be is when you unlock barriers or fortification from NPC sidequest. There is more, the effectiveness of shotguns in ME2: Like I said earlier, rushing/charging in with a few hostiles nearby is basically suicide. Because of that I find myself using the SMG majority of the time. Global cooldown is good, it adds challenge to the game. BUT, IMO it shouldnt be the same for every power. I suggest making all class specific powers cooldown be on a separate timer with the rest of the powers that you may find on other classes and make this powers have special properties like a guarantee knock-down for charge. If Bioware is worried that players will just spam their way through, why not make hostiles with defences(shield, barrier & armor) be resilient to it's effect in shorter duration instate of totally be immune to it. Another option is to make this defence shorter and make their health higher, cause whenever I find that I'm got their defences down, there is no longer any point in using powers like pull, to finish them off; you can just finish them off with your conventional weapons fasters. http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/894945 So a good team is important to take down harder foes. My Jacob + Shepard + Miranda combo is pretty decent : Shielded = Mir: Overpower, Jac: Pull, She: Shoot or slam. (soldier), or blast if im biotic. I finished the game 3 days after release with no dead squadmates, full paragon. Carrying over ME1 saves generally changes the story quite a bit, particularly in your characters (the Default male/female ME2 chars have a different story) Anyway: This is some info you might want to know, may contain spoilers: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Just finished the game myself. Woohoo... loved it. Now the long wait for ME3 begins...
After trying most of the classes for a few hours, I really love the Sentinel. So powerful... Max out Tech Armor, Warp and Overload, get Assault Rifle as a bonus weapon + Armor Piercing, and laugh your way through Veteran. You can clear out entire rooms by yourself... literally. In one part of the final level two of my useless members got stuck somewhere and I had to finish a whole room of collectors by myself. Only after I killed everything that I realized my two members stuck behind pillar Took 3 times to finish the last level since my members keep dying... finally made it through using the following: - » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Of course, you need all your characters to be loyal, or they'll just randomly die anyway. For those who have Mordin dying randomly in the last part (even at fully loyal, he sucks at surviving) either send him as escort (50/50 chance of him dying) or put him in your final boss party (100% survive if he's loyal). How to get more dialogue out of squad mates (henchmen sounds so stupid)? After a while they give me the talk later, busy right now dialogue if I select 'lets talk' or something. It makes me wonder how to initiate the romance subplots (not that I want to, I still think there's more of Ash in ME3). I've done their loyalty quests.

Who? If it's Miranda, she'll say she'll come by when things get quiet. Then before you hit the Omega 4 relay, she'll sex you up.
Will try Infil in second game through, hopefully it'll be fun. |

Just in general because they don't want to talk to me anymore. I remember after every mission in ME1, they have different dialogue. ME2 the dialogue like stops after 2-3 missions. Will try Infil in second game through, hopefully it'll be fun. Anyone else got a kiss from Parasini? |

QUOTE(-Torrz @ Feb 2 2010, 05:00 PM) Did you play ME1? If not she won't appear and I think she doesn't appear if you don't do the below.Basically she's a undercover anti-corruption agent on Noveria in the first game. You can help her and get a turian to give testimony against the administrator of Noveria. In exchange, she gives you her garage pass so you can travel to Peak 15 and track down Liara's mother, Matriarch Benezia who has ties to Saren. At the end of it, she tells you she owes you a beer and drags Anoleis off. In ME2 she's on Illium. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on February 2, 2010, 5:04 pm QUOTE(-Torrz @ Feb 2 2010, 05:00 PM) Darn this Jacob. And Jack. And Tali. It makes me wonder how to initiate the romance subplots (not that I want to, I still think there's more of Ash in ME3). I've done their loyalty quests. As I understand, time only "passes" if you complete a mission. Do a mission and complete it (see the Mission Complete Screen) and time will "pass" and you can try talking to your characters again. Some have more to talk about than others (e.g. Mordin) while others don't say very much (e.g. Jacob). Time does not "pass" if you go around probing planets, no matter how many planets you go.Nah, the comic is about her efforts to find Shepard's corpse and how she ended up with the Shadow Broker. I've done Jacob's quest then went to fetch Tali, the Migrant Fleet quest and the Normandy quest but he's still stonewalling me. That's why I'm kinda confused. Maybe you're right and he's not talkative
His loyalty quest popped up after Horizon though. |

I think after completing his loyalty quest he only talked once more, then it's done and you're his best friend (if you try talking to him he just gives you a fist bump and talks about drinking). I'm thinking he talk more if you're female, heh heh Same with our friend Archangel, he doesn't say much either. Characters like Legion and Mordin REALLY talk a lot though. Finish the game and they STILL have new stuff to say. |

Can you continue getting Paragon/Renegade points even after you've finished ME2? I doubt it but I'd like to know.

Try finding dialogues that grant you those points, or doing paragon/renegade actions.
Since you most likely finished all, there wouldn't be any left Start a new game+, it's really refreshing. |

I just completed Vanguard on Insanity =.=
Died like more than 100 times...Totally imbalance. Word of advice : Reave is the most effective skill against armor and barriers. Cannot survive Insanity without reave |
