I havent played mass effect 1.
Should I play mass effect 1 first before playing mass effect 2 or just get mass effect 2.

I laughed when I met Liara in ME2.

In ME1 she's such an innocent asari that wants attention from my Shepard.
In ME2 she became badass and gave my Shepard renegade points.

Highly recommended to finish ME1 first, since ME2 refers to ME1 heavily.

How to get squad mates to talk more? I managed to get Jacob to talk twice (the 'I just want to talk' option) but then he shuts up like a clam and says he's not keen on these big talks. That's it? I already did his loyalty quest. ME1 had more character stuff. Tali is also shutting up when I have a feeling she has more to say.

Seriously? Play ME1 then import your saved games to ME2. It helps to understand what is going on better and you get more quests. I'm still cracking up over all the ME1 characters I meet. Gianna Parasini is pure gold on Illium and so is Shiala ('wait a minute... why are you green?' part was hilarious). I kicked Conrad in the balls for being so damn annoying too shakehead.gif but he made me realize how much nicer the ME2 armors are compared to the ME1 armors.

Yep, Steam is rm60+, retail is rm119 and last time Steam had sales. I got it for rm17 only. Mass Effect 2 is rm129 or rm209, depends on edition.

Weapons are diversified into types now instead of the good ol' stats.
No imported weps & armor from ME1 ;s

Also, for M-920 Cain, do I need to have it @ 100% in order to fire it?

Here is what I think is a gameplay design flaw in ME2; it's my rant about how lots of the powers in ME2 are kinda gimped in ME2.

I agree for most part of what you said, I just finish recruiting my 1st set of dossiers as a Vanguard and I find myself behind cover most of the time. Charging into a target with other hostile nearby firing at you is basically suicide, what's worst is that if that target has shield or armor on that target doesnt gets knock down. Knowing that this power is already a high risk move, Bioware should atleast make this power a guarantee knock-down on that particular target. To add more salt to the wound, charge puts other skills on cooldown, making you unable to defend yourself from enemy fire.

IMHO, Vanguards are total crippled in ME2, they are basically gimped soldiers without an assault rifle. The only time i see myself playing as a vanguard like it suppose to be is when you unlock barriers or fortification from NPC sidequest.

There is more, the effectiveness of shotguns in ME2: Like I said earlier, rushing/charging in with a few hostiles nearby is basically suicide. Because of that I find myself using the SMG majority of the time.

Global cooldown is good, it adds challenge to the game. BUT, IMO it shouldnt be the same for every power. I suggest making all class specific powers cooldown be on a separate timer with the rest of the powers that you may find on other classes and make this powers have special properties like a guarantee knock-down for charge.

If Bioware is worried that players will just spam their way through, why not make hostiles with defences(shield, barrier & armor) be resilient to it's effect in shorter duration instate of totally be immune to it. Another option is to make this defence shorter and make their health higher, cause whenever I find that I'm got their defences down, there is no longer any point in using powers like pull, to finish them off; you can just finish them off with your conventional weapons fasters.

Posted a few pages back when other users and I were complaining about the Vanguard and the shotgun pump action.

And yes the final boss battle is very disappointing. You practically wont get injured even under Veteran.

The collector edition comic only cover a chapter of Liara's story, we have to wait for continuation.
