or go to Tuchanka and gamble on the Varen fight. Lose? Reload!

You can do that? The krogan always asks me to put real money down.

Although it has no gameplay effects, I didn't like the default ME1 outcome. Basically the default Shepard killed off the characters I liked and romanced that certain beyotch. Good thing I found my old lv59 savegame in a pendrive. Also, the rich achievement only gave you enough credits in ME2 to buy one stupid upgrade... did my wealth get hijacked by nigerian scammers and feng shui masters? zzz

They give a sucky 'canon' so people who played the first game are rewarded in a sense. I guess it's also a marketing strategy, people will buy ME1 (unless they're pirates) in the end. Hey, what's so bad about Ash blink.gif

I ported my lvl 50 guy over and had a ton of nice credits in the beginning. I don't know about you but I bought a couple of upgrades for my assault rifle immediately even before I got Mordin.

ME2 is not a shooter intensive game like any other FPS centric games. If you play classes like Vanguard, adept & engineer. You realize that you don't need the aim function as much as the other class like soldier and infiltrator.

Well for one thing, this is a "cover mechanic" based action game (Like Gears of War and R6 Vegas). You're not supposed to remain in the open for too long anyway, so holding aim seems perfectly valid in this case... Kinda like Time Crisis, where you had to push down on the pedal with your foot to step out to fire.

That being said, since it is a cover mechanic game, I'm a little peeved that you can't do blindfiring. tongue.gif

I watched the bonus disc just now and I saw a few scenes of ME1. The Wrex scene and some Noveria and wow... I don't want to touch ME1 if possible. ME2 has better graphics and atmosphere, tighter shooting, better quests, better dialogue, better voice acting, etc.

Only thing ME1 does right is story which has more depth than ME2's. But then again, ME1 is the beginning, ME2 is the climax (and revelation) and the bridge and ME3 is the resolution.

And to nitpick a bit on ME1's inventory system and ME2's lack thereof. ME1 has more guns and you get to slot upgrades in to suit the situation. I like being able to switch upgrades during battles. The guns lack variety except a stat boost and looks and there are only two models per gun.

ME2 has no inventory which is good and bad. Good being I don't need to fiddle about with omnigel (-shudder-). Bad being there goes rewards for exploring every nook and cranny although the game makes up for it somewhat with upgrades you can find but those aren't random.

But the guns, people fail to realize that the guns in ME2 are vastly different. For example, the first assault rifle has high recoil but more ammo and fully auto fire. The second assault rifle is three burst but is more accurate and great for using Adrenaline Rush with to pick people off. The first sniper rifle is semiauto but high damage while the second has fast rate of fire but low damage.

It is sad only two weapons exist per class though. Three if you count the Collector mission weapons and the geth rifle you can get if you start a new game +. I'm a stickler for guns but no point also if they have 2 models and 100 recolours.

Your Steelbook case alright? Mine has a small paint chip on top of the front half with Shepard so I can see the metal. Also give the CE bonus disc a watch. No spoilers if you've been following all the vids from their website.

Soldier does feel a lot like GoW to me.With the reload mechanism.

Still, the 3 new ammo types makes Soldier much more fun than ME1.

Eh? ME2 doesn't have the mucho awesome QTE reloads of GoW. Not that it needed it since you reload pretty damned fast. Its just a regular reload system.

The weapon loadout is crap if you don't count DLC. Only the heavy weapons let you make a meaningful choice. For other weapons I have been using the same gun for nearly the whole game. It would be better if Bioware, for example, gives 5 different unlockable sniper rifles, each with significant differences in aspects like firing rate, recoil, ammo capacity, damage and zoom.

A fast-firing shotgun would be welcome, too.

There is from the start,

katana = default shotgun, medium fire rate, medium damage

Scimitar assualt shotgun = high fire rate, below average damage per shot

claymore aka krogan shotgun = 2nd highest damage after widow rifle, 1 shot per clip.

Hmm interesting. The only guns I use were the sniper rifle and the assault rifle so I only know their differences. What about the smg and the pistol?

Instead of looking at it like it should be like Borderlands BUT IN SPACE, look at it like a typical FPS whereby you usually get pretty generic weapons early on like a pistol, token shotgun, token double shotgun, token assault rifle, token sniper rifle, etc. and then later on you start getting all the funky stuff (Which are like the heavy weapons in ME2)

This game isn't supposed to be a gun wank like MW2 or Borderlands, but it at least gives you some decent options with each weapon type which in general translates to High Fire Rate = Low Damage and conversely.

They did away with the inventory system altogether... This is pretty much inline with that.

heavy handgun

default handgun = higher clip capacity, higher fire rate, lower damage per shot.

handgun which you get from

= smaller clip size, lower fire rate, higher damage. Think of it as a desert eagle.

SMG

Default smg = small clip size, 3 shot burst, better accuracy.

Upgrade smg from

= double the clip size, 5 shot burst, low accuracy at long range.

SMG, tempest has the most clips and firing rate, best gun imo as the crosshair becomes thinner = accuracy increases?

Pistol only got one alternative, after Mordin Solus gave u sleep.gif

Im just saying it feels like GoW,as it's just all about shooting. There isnt much spells to use at all.

You dont have to "correct" every single post.

Kind of agree,as there could be more guns in the first place.

They could have just drop a few of those old style infinite ammo guns as an alternative to the new types. Not like they are bad,but having more variety dont hurt.

It's impossible to replace every single gun in the galaxy in a few year's time.

Besides,
