I now definitely think the problem I have been experiencing *is* congestion. Smooth surfing/youtubing experience the last few days...

yes, what i'm concern is what actual we can get, using the M and C broadband now, not up to performance, their excuse is location problem or congestion.. sad.gif ..
HSPA = what kind of the modem have to use, is it same as HSDPA modem?
*
HSDPA (and HSUPA) are both HSPA. HSDPA simply means high speed download component of HSPA, HSUPA the high speed upload of HSPA. All Malaysian cel cos have HSDPA, only DiGi has that and HSUPA.

oh means like
I got 2 PC and 1 laptop
says like I on PC-A 24/7
so I can use PC-A work as router, then my laptop and PC-B can connect to internet as well?
does it need other software / hardware? I got a normal router only currently, dont wish to spend much though biggrin.gif

PC A wil have to have two network cards. Or at least a network card and a wireless adapter.

why I need 2 network card leh?

PC-A functions as the router. Modem must be connected to this PC. One network card connects to PC B, the second network card to your laptop. You can use ICS (Internet connection sharing) or third party proxy server software on PC A.

download stall problems are still there...surfing is OK, youtube doesn't buffer, but various large file downloads keep stalling! Anyone experiencing this? Tried downloading this file, keeps stalling at 85.1% (a freaking 5.9MB file)

http://download.pcinspector.de/pci_filerecovery.exe

I thought it might be with the site, but it keeps happening to various downloads from a variety of sites...sometimes happens to files as small as 600KB...

no problem for me

My problem is not speed. It downloads at speeds in excess of 100KB/Sec. It's just that moments before it is supposed to complete it comes to an abrupt halt without completing the download.

Check that you are on HSDPA, not EDGE. If your network preference is set to WCDMA Preferred, it can sometimes revert to the slower EDGE without you noticing, especially in areas where their HSDPA is weak.

I knew this day would come, the day I heard rumours they are extending 3G to voice users. I'm getting half the average promised speed...

Added on November 8, 2009, 12:23 pmJust called up DiGi, and guess what? They say 300kbps is acceptable for HSDPA! This is even more shyte than Sialcom!

With all these promotions, signups not matched in speed with capacity upgrade, all I can say is "Slippery Slope, DiGi, Slippery Slope"...

I complained so many times already. But DiGi CS keep insisting 300kbps is "OK" / "Acceptable". I tried MCMC also. But they remained stoned as they always have been.

I've tried heckling via Twitter and Facebook, but the utter twit who manage both did not respond (they only seem to respond to comments saying they are good). Heck, I even tried reaching Johan Dennelind via Twitter. Another twit, unfortunately. Broadband Done Right my foot.

I have written to THe Star, so far no sign of it on that paper.
