i also own a n82 but dont think my name in the list...
hahaha

Added on March 30, 2009, 11:43 pmi wanna ask about n82 using 16GB memory card.
so far is there any known problem and whats the price for now?
*
like BBXiong said, the price for 16gb is quite high and i dont really think you can fill it up to the max unless you're storing videos, which is better viewed on a bigger screen phone imo.

i suggest getting an 8gb card. you'll still have the 2gb card for storing other stuff..

u sure can enable the vshape and horseshoe for n82? n82 is not fp2..it's fp1. only fp2 has these options.

pre-fp2 like n81 also has v-shape and horseshoe menu styles

*
We've havent yet see the true use of 16gb capacity for phones so a 1 or 2TB memory card will see a long wait in terms of implementation in phones.

Big memory usually means movies on the go but these will usually effect large screen lcd phones like touchscreen phones.

i think what he meant was that batteries of today wouldnt allow the 'true mobile entertainment system experience' because the current battery capacities would only allow for a short period of entertainment usage before running out of charge
*
yeah maybe that's why sdxc won't go into mobile phones like cute boboi said.. it's quite useless. small screen, lower capacity battery etc..

if we are going to make full use of the much much larger capacity memory cards (considering the size of music as well as video's and so on as a constant), what we will need is smaller batteries which hold a lot more charge rather than wireless charging actually
*
yeah correct, smaller but higher capacity. there are technologies like that now but it is very very costly.

Yeah... i agree with both of you. i hope i can see the day that wireless charging is implemented widely.

btw, there's another problem to the issue, the high cost of implementation of these techs in phones laptops...etc..

ya, battery is the main drawback, look at samsung omnia HD, can record in HD, but due to the massive processing, review site say the battery drained to empty in 30mins in recording HD...
*
WTF? seriously? if record FULL HD in 30 minutes battery finish already? wow.. this is quite useless. better buy a hd vid cam.

Yes, might as well a mini-nuclear power plant battery. It can last longer than your h/p  laugh.gif
E.g. on marketing material: Buy a battery that can last you three mobile phones! No need to recharge for 25 years!

But then, no. People will use it as mini-hand grenade mini-nuclear bomb during riot, instead of throwing rocks/stones.  doh.gif

Added on April 3, 2009, 7:44 pmAdd-on marketing material: Circum-navigate the earth 5,000 times with your N82 in-built GPS on our nuclear-battery without recharging.  laugh.gif

man you're talking like you played Fallout 3 or something.. nice

btw, the current battery tech is still going to be used for quite sometime..

Is there a proper way to disconnect n82 in USB mode rather by ejecting it at the task bar?
My memory card corrupt after i ejecting it. I format memory card using n82, and then can use like normal. But now I have problem transfering music to aac format using pc suite, the process keep failing. I think something wrong with my memory card

edit: typo error
*
sometimes this happens because there are probs with the initial usb driver installation. Did u connect the phone and choose PC SUITE or MEMORY CARD?

is there any other fun for N82 besides engage game ? >"<
i prefer having fun using some softwares to customize my phone .. >"<

What happened to your memory card? Did not know that card readers are a problem.

Meaning if i get higher class the hp performance doesn't not improve so much la?
I thought it will help as i want to store a lot of pic, music and mtv file. Doesn't want my hp 'hang' while browsing the file  tongue.gif
*
It will not make much difference in your phone.

The real advantage of high speed cards is when used with card readers. High speed cards = high speed file transfers between your memory card and your computer.

Do take note that not all card readers support every speed class. Read their specs.

well.. maybe vacuum it.. just givin out ideas..

i like phones without the manual cover because faster to take pictures (no need to open cover first) and easier to clean because it's quite flat like n95 8gb. but need to take care because it is much easier to be scratched.

n82 on the other hand has protection from scratching which is really good but it does collect dust in the cover. both got it's pros and cons.

i like humidity...haha..

just go fix the camera cover laa..

improve battery life:

1. update firmware
2. lower lcd brightness
3. use GSM only mode
4. if want to use garminXT use the latest one with options to turn off it's background apps.

u can get a 2nd battery or take with you a car phone charger

latest garmin it 5.4 and the background app can be shut down in the options in garminXT

the problem is with the older 5.3 which has that cardrunner.dll running another file tsrautostart.exe in the background which really sucks batt life..seriously.

some say that even deleting that cannot work because when they run it once it always runs again and need to restart phone.. a hassle.. so just install the new 5.4.
