u dont need to but at nokia stores...they will sell at the exact RRP - Recommended Retail Price, and they wont give u extras like other shops do..

buy at other shops that sell original n82 and ask them to give you extras like screen protector and leather casing etc.. the price diff between nokia stores and other stores can go around rm100-rm200 difference.

display unit is probably older, meaning old batch or old stock so the price will be cheaper.. when did u get your n82?

u also have an n95 8gb?

just want to ask you... how's the battery life of n82 compared to n95 8gb?

i can help you there with the shutter sound. actually is is compulsory for asian countries to have shutter sound and red light for cameraphones..

change product code to euro1 and update to the euro1 firmware.

yeah... if you dont know how to update firmware, maybe u shouldnt do it.

but i learned it myself and it was easy enough to understand. i dont see it as a risk because the difference between updating your phone with original FW and updating your phone with EURO FW is to change the codes to EURO only. that's all. then, the rest of the steps are the same, just update with nokia software updater. p.s. chinese language is not included in euro fw

btw, use update to garmin 5.4 as v5.3 has a silent running app that sucks significant amount of battery power..

i can tell u the steps to change the product code of your current phone from whatever it is now to EURO which would silent your phone in silent profile and/or turn off the "warning sound" in your current active profile.

first things first to avoid any complications later

1. do u have original avaxx/zitron or AP set?
2. do u know how to update your phone using nokia software updater?

when u want to go online u have options whether to use wifi or 3g.

if the wifi is suddenly disconnected, do not worry, as you can set it to use WIFI as the default connection. Then it will not automatically connect to 3g and it will only display "disconnected". u will have to choose what network to connect to in order to resume

if you dont want to use 3g at all and would like to save battery at the same time, u can change TOOLS> SETTINGS> PHONE > NETWORK.. in the netwrok choose GSM only if you want to disable 3g. it will save a bit more battery life in urban areas and it will save much more battery life in rural areas where there are no OR low 3g coverage.

what do you mean exactly by notification feature? 5610 runs on S40 software and n82 runs on S60 software

oh.. as far as i know, s60 cant do that.. and it also cannot make the wallpaper appear full screen unlike in 5610.

i think u dont need to worry as 87mb is big enough and sufficient enough for your use. so no need to fiddle around. it's safer too.

maybe u installed garmin v5.3? it could be the culprit..

n82 uses Li-Ion 1050 mAh (BP-6MT) which costs around rm60 to rm100. look in garage sales, prices differ.

i guess you're having a problem with your firmware.

keep the pics in memory card. back it up. i suggest reinstalling / installing the latest firmware and formatting the memory card.

remember to backup anything that u wanna keep manually or use nokia pc suite to back it up.

the weird thing is that u said that it's okay when it was on chinese language.. maybe you could try changing the product code to euro, update firmware then change the code back to apac and update firmware again...just a suggestion. if you dont use chinese, no harm keeping the euro product code. change product code using nemesis suite but u need to find the country product codes yourself. google

im not sure about that buy if you bought an ori battery you can scratch off the sticker or something like that to find out a serial number and can put online to see whather it is original or not.

As long as people buy it..shop will stick to the price..regardless of RRP price/ori price. So the shops are the clear winners here..hehe.. but what to do..
