QUOTE(ckimy @ Aug 5 2009, 09:00 PM) how do i determine the jersey is Player Issued? besides the tag... A very very hard question to answer.wat kind of pic shd i ask the seller provide to me? Because player specs are so different for each jersey. Some have different characteristics.. example, brasil nike player specs has PU printed nike swoosh and brasil crest. But other nike national teams don't follow that trait. |

QUOTE(MaxReddevil @ Aug 6 2009, 01:07 PM) What is the difference between the 2 photos? Was wondering why the first photo has 2 stars but the second photo has like 8 stars? Both are the same. The left one is because the batch is still with it's plastic protective film. The right one is what the patch would look like after it has applied. Beginning last season, the UCL champions starball has this unique watermark that mimics the rest of the stars that doesn't appear on the patch. So the extra stars you see there are actually watermark shapes of the stars that appears on the stitched navy layer beneath the starball |

06/07 player issue is super duper truper hard to find one.... 07/09 player issue, yes.. was easy. Nike UK did a warehouse sale few years back and suddenly sold off all these player issue kits... |

Thanks to those who appreciated the usage of the term 'JCs'. |

QUOTE(Rhadykall @ Aug 10 2009, 07:50 PM) Nope. If you want one, order from united direct or kitbag.QUOTE(giotto @ Aug 10 2009, 11:26 PM) I've not seen any local sports store selling the GK kits simply because the demand isn't there. Even selling long sleeve kit in a tropical weathered country like here is bad enough, let alone GK kits. Eric, last time they did sell the man utd nike goalkeeper kit.. but it was the short sleeve version (the first ever nike goalkeeper kit) as worn by barthez. They were sold at the old Man United store at One Utama (no longer exists now) and at a sports store called Topper Sports in Pertama Kompleks. Now they no longer sell it.. maybe because of low demand. But I doubt that there is low demand. Try sell some and you might see people buying it... |

My away kit from kitbag has arrived yesterday... Was suppose to reach my hand yesterday but then the UPS driver didn't come to my house yesterday.. I guess because too many orders to deliver. I was pissed, so this morning I went to UPS HQ at PJ and collected it myself...
All I can say is the away kit is nice. Will do review later, maybe tomorrow because tonight I have some office work to do.... |

Finally.. the jerseyman review on the new away kit. Enjoy:
Ah.. The new away kit.... This kit.. by far is the most controversial kit between the new man united kits launched this year.... Previously we (United fans) were being taunted and being made a laughing stock by the press and rival fans when it was rumoured that the new away kit uses a blue colour that is similar to the colours that is normally associated with Man City. From the initial sneak peek photos from certain websites.. we saw an initial glimpse of the new away kit and was shocked to see that it initially looked like it had a V logo with light blue colours..... Lets recall back the scary initial sneak peek photos of the rumoured new away kit: ![]() This photo was the first glimpse of the new away kit.... scary... The next photos didn't do any justice to ease our (United fans) concern: ![]() Take a look closely at the 3 initial photos above... what colour is the blue being used? Scary.... Anyway.... Jerseyman still proceeded to order it since it looked great during the AUDI CUP friendly match vs Bayern, an order was placed and it was shipped on Friday (7th August)... It arrived at Malaysia on Monday (10th August) but the UPS driver didn't deliver it to my home on Monday.... ![]() The UPS tracking code site shows that the delivery man failed to deliver it on time as scheduled and promised by UPS I was so pissed, I decided to collect it myself at UPS's HQ office at Jalan Tandang, PJ the next Tuesday morning... So here's the parcel in my car: ![]() Safe and sound..... Then back home, I was so glad to see the contents... and the first thing I inspected was... what kind of blue was used... Fortunately it's not sky blue.. You could say it's pale blue but not too pale or light... ![]() The new away kit.... To be continued.. |

Continued..
Let's see the new away jersey: ![]() The new Man United 2009-2010 Away Jersey ![]() Closeup to the new away jersey ![]() Using the new style of club crest embroidery introduced last year (all flat smooth surface except for the devil) ![]() For the new away jersey.. it's Made in Thailand... a bad news for jersey collectors because the fakers can steal the design ![]() Just like the new home jersey, the away has the V shaped ventilation mesh holes on the back of the jersey ![]() Jerseyman size - XXL ![]() Launched as sheduled - August 2009 (but a bit earlier.. hehe) ![]() The small white nike info tag inside the jersey (beneath the washing tags) ![]() For the away jersey, there is no extra tag behind the normal small white nike tag (unlike the home) By the way, it also has the same tag on the side (the one that says "THE THEATRE OF DREAMS SINCE 1910") just like the new home jersey.. To be continued.. |

Continued..
Next is the new away shorts: ![]() The new Man United 2009-2010 Away Shorts ![]() As usual.. Nike player shorts are made in Thailand.. ![]() The same extra details on the end of the shorts's string, just like the new home shorts ![]() The same extra details on the back of the shorts, just like the new home shorts Still concerned with the blue colour? ![]() It looks ok to me... Finally the new away socks: ![]() The new 2009-2010 Man United away socks ![]() The new 2009-2010 Man United away socks So again.. how does jerseyman feel about the new away kit? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Of course jerseyman loves it... This jersey has a different touch to it (black with blue).. So similar to the 93-95 kungfu away kit.. but it was black, blue and yellow.... I know you guys complain that it is identical to the home jersey.. A bit bummer on that, and also initially it was a nightmare to see the initial sneak peek photos showing that the blue was similar to Man City's sky blue.. But jerseyman had a theory on this... Remember that the jersey was being sold 'temporarily' earlier than the launching date.. Then suddenly it disappears from the store? I suspect that nike might called off the away kits and did some touch up to change the blue colour.. But it's just a funny guess.. Maybe the blue was still the same as it's original design and that the original leaked photos gave a different story and was a bit deceiving... Nevermind. Hope this relieves the United jersey collectors.. Overall.. to summarize up things.. here's jerseyman ratings about the kit: The away shirt: Design: 3 out of 5 (just like the home kit.. nothing different) Material: 4 out of 5 (comfy and similar like the home) Cutting: 5 out of 5 (great cutting.. the sleeves were claimed to be different than the home but no complains here) Comfortness: 4 out of 5 (round collars could take some toll to your neck, especially if your neck is huge) Overall: 4 out of 5 The away shorts: 4.5 out of 5 (just like the home shorts, love the extra titsy bitsy details) The away socks: 4 out of 5 (again, like the home socks but jerseyman would prefer if the V was on the front instead on the back) This post has been edited by schmeichel7: Aug 13 2009, 03:05 AM |

QUOTE(shortleg88 @ Aug 13 2009, 03:53 AM) want to ask the seniors here for help Mate, the suggestion on how to remedy it was discussed previously. My 2007/2009 Manchester United home jersey, the white patch behind the jersey at the neck area came off half way. Is there any way to stick it back without damaging the jersey? Hope you all understand my question, or else I might have to attach a photo for better understanding You can check it out, click here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/933093/+783# QUOTE(superooneyoi @ Aug 13 2009, 08:31 AM) You wished. Hahaha...QUOTE(nimrod2 @ Aug 13 2009, 08:37 AM) if you look at the back pages, there are a few guides to fixing it. i think u have to iron it back, but u better double check. Yeah, thanks for highlighting it.. mine oso actually coming off, but its the bottom part - just above the MUFC word. is there a reason to why this is happening? maybe my lack of care? I suspect that the first batch of production for the 2007/2009 home kit had this... My first ever purchase for the 2007/2009 home kit too had the same problem. To ensure it doesn't peel off, always try to flip your jersey inside out (terbalikkan dulu baju) and then iron beneath the white stripe. QUOTE(zaidizero @ Aug 13 2009, 09:30 AM) Nice review jerseyman, as always, Thanks mate.Nike now owns umbro, so i doubt they allow their subsidiary to sponsor a big club like united for commercial reasons. QUOTE(ckimy @ Aug 13 2009, 09:36 AM) Thanks.. That's my point for this review. Don't worry about the blue colour used for the away kit.QUOTE(Catrix @ Aug 13 2009, 09:49 AM) Kitbag/United Direct.QUOTE(ojp @ Aug 13 2009, 10:02 AM) Hi All, You can try colour it back using black market.. but BE CAREFUL.. not to stain the jersey. I won't be held responsible if anything goes wrong.I have a man utd home jersey 1999, the sponsor(sharp) was faded a bit (the black outline) , do you guys know any ways to fix it ? QUOTE(giotto @ Aug 13 2009, 10:05 AM) Schmikes, Yeah Eric.. I know that. Besides that Nike is so lazy, not only in designing jerseys but also in using past season photos to be used to display the new kit (by using photoshop or any graphic tool software).. You can see for yourself during the launching of the new home kit, they took photos from last season, did some touch up and make it look like the new home kit. So in that process it could deceive our eyes for the away and also maybe the photos had bad contrast or brightness....I think Nike didn't amended the blue on the chevron just because of its similarity with Man City. I think its more of a fact that the earlier footykitblog.com photo was brighten sue to its low light conditions. Take a look at the tag and you'd see its blindingly white, which suggest the pic was unnaturally brighten using some software or even the camera's white balance function. I was just trying to make myself happy with Nike.. hahaha... I would doubt they do that. |
