Or they themselves can't see their future as a football player.
But still, Wan Kuzain is a talented youngster. His parents are both Malaysian?

TBH, we can find many talented kids like Wan Kuzain in Malaysia. They have remarkable skills with the ball. Its just that their adults can't help them to improve further. Those adults I refer to are their parents or the top managers in of FAM.

If anything it proves just how much difference it can make to take the kid out of Malaysia. It helps of course that he wasn't born here or he'd be mentally corrupted. The saying goes, "you can take the boy out of the kampung, but you can't take the kampung out of the boy" applies to Malaysian players. With this guy however, he wasn't born in the kampung which makes all the difference in the world. Good luck to him. Hope he doesn't even come back to play here.

I think that only we can change the perspective of others towards our football because in reality we do suck. I was out with a Norwegian lady yesterday and she asked what our most popular sport was and I said "football". She then went, "but you don't have a very good team, do you?". The truth hurts eh? |

On the issue of local bred football players, whatever happened to Titus James? Has he chosen to make his name elsewhere or is he somehow in the Malaysian setup? Never seen him live in action, but from what I hear, he's really good in juggling the ball, though in no way is that a decent measure on how good a player is.
Added on April 25, 2009, 2:59 pm QUOTE(Duke Red @ Apr 25 2009, 12:26 PM) I smiled and said, "you're right" Tell me about it. My dad used to tell me tales of the great Malaysian superstars like Soh Chin Aun and Mokhtar Dahari, creaming all over the floor about how the side then was considered one of the Asian juggernauts. Even Europe quaked in their boots playing us then. Now I wouldn't put it past an under 15 Brazilian side twatting us left right and centreIf a lady from Norway who has only visited our country twice can tell me that, imagine what seasoned male football fans may thinl This post has been edited by Hevrn: Apr 25 2009, 02:59 PM |

Last I heard, Titus was plying his trade in the French Third Division or something. Not surprised no one has mentioned him though. I mean even Lim Teong Kim's exploits with Bayern Munich have gone unnoticed.

Aye, last I heard of the guy he left for Le Havre to polish his talents after becoming a household name for his ball juggling antics. Never even heard of Lim Teong Kim though. |

i believe malaysian kampung boy actually quite good with football.. me always plays with some elementary school students who plays for their district or state.. they're quite good you know.. but the football system quite corrupted, lead to what-happen-now in malaysian football.. the selection of players, particularly state players, more on recommendation by someone prominent in the area, not professionally selected by the coach (some of them only). means those dirty politicians have their say. disobedient means no money to the team.
i strongly believe that the talent is there in the kampung. but the system is corrupted. maybe all the inspiring kid at malaysia should have their own youtube clip, so they can easily be tracked by the best scouts worldwide! hehehe. presenting the new martha! sorry but i'm kinda off topic rite?? Trying to revive a dead thread
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « TS should change the thread title, since wonderkid talents are very rare, which make this thread kinda boring. Promising talents who are now active in the first team should be good additions IMO. |
