Hmm, the Dell 2408WFP seems to have dropped in price again.  RM1699.  Still expensive, but it's a VA screen and has more inputs than the number of pimples on an average teenage employee of mcdonalds

High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
2 Digital Visual Interface - Digital (DVI-D) with High Definition Content Protection (HDCP)
Display Port
Video Graphics Array (VGA)
Separate Video (S-Video)

4 USB 2.0 downstream ports

This monitor really suit my needs, a lot of reviews stated that it has input lag problem, anyone using it can give some comment?

I play rock band and ghwt on it at standard lcd calibration settings and I've not noted any significant input lag. And i use it for general pc gaming as well.

I read an article on this recently as well and there are some monitors which are especially prone to this especially when they have crappy algorithms to reduce response time.

Heard of Acer H233H? That's the best for its price ATM. Those you mentioned are either old specs or overpriced or both.

I honestly have not had much opportunity to test 2208WFP. So between T220 and S2409, you have to choose T220 because it's more sharp, brighter and more crisp. I would avoid getting a second hand monitor though nowadays for warranty purpose.

oic. thats what i think also coz comparing to the resolution, t220 is 20 000:1 and dell s2409 is 1000:1. so suppose the t220 is sharper and brighter. about the dell 2208wfp i also dont know much. but i heard it is an ultrasharp monitor. so which one to choose.. sweat.gif

Bear in mind taht H233H has only built in speakers and no audio output. Several reviews have read that the built in speakers is lowsy. So better make your decision wisely.

Honestly those who bother using monitor speakers don't deserve good quality audio. the same applies to people using TV speakers as well smile.gif

If you buy or can afford LCD monitor, surely you can buy a decent sound system.

When I had only a PS2 and regular TV, I bought the Soundworks Virtual Dolby Digital PS speakers (the one with optical input) for the great price of RM100, so that I can expereince Virtual Dolby Surround Sound, almost as good as those analog 5.1 speakers costing much more.

One time, Sony sold the Muteki 5.2 surround sound system for around RM900-RM1K. I saw them for sale in Carrefour/Tesco all the time, quality is very good (it's a Sony not some cheap brand...). Can connect to DVD/Blu Ray or game console using optical out cable.

So far not many manufacturer sell affordable HDMI-based audio systems, you still need to buy integrated amplifier-type systems so you can have both audio and video through HDMI cable (Pioneer brand costs RM3k +++).

In short, get the Acer H233H, get a decent sound system with optical input (Soundworks speakers can be found in bargain section of IT stores), you get awesome quality and affordable price.
