There are many who have EASA's LWTR.
Most took DCA's Paper 1 exam, passed and issued DCA's LWTR before being locally type rated.
Are you aware that having an LWTR(EASA or BCAR Section L) has NO PRIVILEDGES what so ever?

SAE was set up and owned (20%) by AirAsia. It's their 'base maintenance' as such will handle most scheduled checks for the B737-300 and the Airbus fleet.
Having said that, obviously there would be no turbo props. Firefly? I doubt it! laugh.gif

Does sae fix turbo prop only? The firefly?

Nope. Never.
As far as AIROD's DCA approval are concerned for commercial aviation, it only covers B737-200s.

MAS being the 'parent' is covering Firefly maintenance too.
Most of Firefly personnels are initially seconded from MAS.

i think firefly is serviced by airods. not too sure tho... smile.gif

Definitely NOT.
There's only 3 schools approved by the DCA Malaysia, they are not one of them.

QUOTE(git0926 @ Aug 23 2010, 08:21 PM)
is this training school recognized by DCA?

Okay or not I can't say. So far I have never met anyone that has passed out from this school.
Getting a job is based on your qualifications and experiences, and of course if you have the LWTR, EASA or otherwise.
I am not sure if this school is recognised by MAS.

QUOTE(git0926 @ Aug 24 2010, 12:53 AM)
jazzy, is this school ok? can i get job after that?
*
Yes, this is very much similar like NUC was offering but what I heard last is that the agreement between NUC and AST has expired last month, as such NUC is no longer offering the EASA programme. Wonder what happen to the remaining of the students that has yet to sit for the EASA written examinations.

QUOTE(georgepang @ Aug 24 2010, 04:40 AM)
They are not part of 147 training school but offer part 66 syllabus.. Almost same like what nilai offer

Have you tried calling or email them with the enquiries?
Normally if an organization have any approval or any accredition, they would brag/advertised heavily based on that, sadly I do not see any at their website.

Valid points there, idzhar.
They provide you the necessary lessons(theory) and prep you for the EASA exams, then provide you with the necessary OJT for the issuance of the EASA license.
My concerns are that they're NOT a Part 147 and Part 145 organization, its gonna be a long process to get the license. Please refer to EASA-66 syllabus requirements.
I wonder if they have License Engineers as Instructors.. hmm.gif

No but briefly I have been in the industry for the last 30 years. Was with MAS, Transmile Air, AIROD Sdn. Bhd and AirAsia.
Now I'm in a private sector involved with aviation training.
Fair enough?
