u still need enough experience to apply for the exam
roughly it should be 4-5 years do your reading on the first page

almost all the info should be in the MCAR (Malaysian Civil Aviation Regulation) and CAA 1969 (Civil Aviation Act) and Airwothiness Notices (AN) - all of these malaysian law publication regarding aviation in malaysia
but of course there are books or course notes which has been compiled from all these sources
in fact ive got a soft copy of one of the compilation
