QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Mar 2 2009, 07:12 PM) Hey guys must we always remove the disc after playing it ? Cant we just leave it inside and close the console ? maybe true maybe notThe seller told me if i dint take out b4 shutting down the console there is possibility the disc could stuck inside. Is it true ? very annoying must keep inserting the disc time after time theoretically it will wear out the lense quicker because every time the console it will be active. personally, i left the disc inside the console when shutting down since mar 2007. of course i take the disc out if im moving the console to other place. no dead lens yet or maybe i am just lucky. |

QUOTE(ps3roxor @ Mar 10 2009, 10:52 AM) Hi guys, can I use a save file from Region 1 with my Region 3 game? Will it corrupt the files? nope Also, can i use DLC from Region 1 with my Region 3 games? Eg: LBP, Fallout 3, Folklore or similiar games that have DLC. you have to start over saves are locked i think because of trophies. even copying saves (same region) onto another user on the same ps3 will give an error. on the dlc, some dlcs are region-compatible (r1 & r3) but normally they are not. i tried to compile r1&r3 dlc compatibility list by checking the sniffed url in the proxy log, but i aborted it because the community wont help me to check for those sku numbers & proxy logs etc This post has been edited by vorchiel: Mar 10 2009, 12:35 PM |

the psn account region only matters if you want to connect to psn store. logging in using usa psn id to psn store will get you the usa/r1 store, etc.
for online play, you can play any region disc on any region psn id. |

game/disc region connects to the server as predetermined in the disc, not the psn id nor the ps3 region. so normally r1 games will connect to american servers. in psn, i think the servers are not managed by sony but rather the devs/publishers themselves. maybe some first/second party gameservers are managed by sony.
in some advanced games like killzone 2, you can choose which server you want to connect to. and for some other games (we/pes/mgo), they only connect to their own server, and dont have cross-region multiplayer. |

last time i used usb capture card
but can only use composite or svideo and i play on comp screen at the same time recording the feed. you can connect the ps3 directly to camcorder input (normally svideo/composite) and record directly. if the camcorder supports pass-through, you can resend the signal to tv for larger screens while recording the video. if not, you may have to play through the camcorder's small screen. |

uncharted is one of the games that fully utilised texture streaming from bd drive (hence no installation/long initial loading )
it will definitely stress out the bd drive. clean the disc if you want to lighten the burden of the bd drive |

some restrictions are within the monitor itself
some computers cant receive non-standard resolutions (like 16:10 monitors cant receive 16:9 signals, etc) and it must support hdcp in order to use hdmi -> dvi adapter. not all dvi-equipped monitor supports hdcp (most do support though). but hdmi-equipped displays must support hdcp (it is a requirement for hdmi standards) |

it is an agreed consensus that 720p is better than 1080i
untick 720p in the ps3 display settings. if that game doesnt support both 1080i or 720p, have fun with your 480p |
