bas tard sword is nice if you are strong enough to carry it with one hand and properly upgraded with ores. but if not strong enough, then 2 hand is also good but you can't use your shield to block. my bas tard sword +6 can kill those monsters and soldiers in area 1 with a single blow. only problem with bas tard sword is stamina. must have plenty of stamina or else you can only swing the sword once or twice before recharging your stamina.

may i know where to get or buy Kilij weapon?
i really hate the way you lose all your souls when you die. really frustrating. happened to me in Stonefang Area 2. that's why i am asking about the Kilij.

thanks for the tip. i know that demon knight who guard the locked door at 1-1 and i think i can kill him with my bas tard or scimitar. man, you play like a pro. wish i was as good as you. already ponteng kerja for 2 days and so far, i only managed to kill phalanx, tower knight, red demon and armored spider.

on no!!! i accidently slashed the girl who always says "umbasa" at nexus and she won't stop attacking me. so i had to kill her. is she an important npc?

in the heat of things, i forgot to restart -.-

is she important or not? i don't feel like restarting the game just because i accidently "murdered" an npc. i know she is not sage frake's apprentice because is he is sitting on the opposite site of stockpile thomas.

if i get fed-up of my temple knight, i am going to restart the game with a noble/royal. instant soul arrow at your disposal with magic regen ring.

going to put Demon's Soul on hold for a while because i am going to play Resident Evil 5 first. once i slaughtered all the zombies, i will come back to this game. *umbasa*

from what i read in other forums, the noble/royal class is the easiest to play because he comes with soul arrow and mp regen ring which gives you the ability to blast the living hell out of the monsters from a safe distance.
you have to kill the first demon boss before you can get an item that lets you invite other players.

killing the dragon with 100+ arrows even more priceless.

a master at gamefaqs told me that umbasa girl is of no importance to the game or quests. so feel free to kill her, rape her or chop her into pieces if you are tired of hearing her say umbasa all the time. umbasa....

i had enough of my temple knight. restarted with a royal. flew right thru area 1 and killed phalanx without even dying once. SOUL ARROW FTW!!!

my temple knight is still there. the game will save your new character in another save slot. so you can create as many characters as you like. i got fed up of my temple knight because he always dies easily especially when fighting bosses. with my royal, she can blast the hell out of those demons from a safe distance and run away if those demons are coming to chase her. yes it's cheap but i like cheap. sure beats dying a thousand times and losing your hard earned souls like a damn fool. so right now, i am going the magic route. the hack & slash route gets old real fast.

i didn't increase vitality much and sometimes there's nobody to summon. so what to do but fight solo.

i like cheap. i will be getting the death cloud spell for my royal. btw what demon soul gives you that spell?

for some funny reason, i can't coop with incx but i can coop with lots of japanese players until one of them added me to his friends list!! anyone here can coop with people on their friends list?

where is sage freke? i been running all over the tower and he keeps telling me to help him, but i can't find him. do i have to kill all the bosses in area 3 to save him or what?

In regards to Ostrava:

There are two ways you can go about handling Ostrava. The items involved are Lune Sword, Lune Shield, Mausoleum Key, and Pure Clearstone (not sure about the exact translation of the stone, its called 純粋なみなぎ石 in Japanese; I'm going off based on the name in the Trophy list- be aware that the exact 'stone' name might be wrong)

If you kill him you can get the Mausoleum Key which will lead you to Old King Doran (it opens the door guarded by the red-eyed knight in 1-1). Where you can get other cool weapons. However, if you kill him you will miss the rarest Clearstone. Which you'll need if you want to create the highest level weapon with that stone (and receive the corresponding Trophy).

You can save him and get all the items as well, however you must save him 3 times.

He will be in:
1.) 1-1: Save Ostrava in the courtyard
2.) 1-2: Save Ostrava from under the bridge
After you beat the one of the final area boss in the other areas you will be able to go to 1-3:
3.) 1-3: Save Ostrava by the gate being attacked by two red-eyed Knights (If he dies in combat here you'll need to pick up the Mausoleum Key from his corpse or you'll miss it).

At 1-4 before the elevator you will meet Ostrava in Dark Phantom form, by killing him you will get the Lune Sword and Lune Shield. You will also get the Mausoleum Key.

Added on March 10, 2009, 12:22 amsaved sage freke after getting the key by turning a stupid demon standing on a table into charcoal with flamethrower. now i got total protection spell & a silver bracelet that gives me more souls.
Also, i am irritated by those idiot black phantoms always trying to kill me. so whenever they come, i just quit the game and make them waste their black crystal for nothing. wa ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

i don't like to use my precious epheryal stones or play coop to restore my body again unless i have to. so i don't waste my time fighting those idiots when i can waste my time to finish my quests or kill bosses.

on a sidenote, i placed my bluestone in the tower to play coop. then suddenly the game tells me that i am being summoned as a B Phantom. i thought WTF??!! then i saw a cutscene of the old monk and me being a black phantom. the old monk gives me his robes and i ended up being the boss!!!! i was like, no farking way man! my hp and mp was all very high and i could walk around the room but i didn't see anybody else. after a few minutes the game just said something like the mission was complete and i ended up being my old self again. then i found out i got the monk's collar hat (a very very big hat) and 2000 souls for doing nothing! anybody else experiance this or is this a bug?
