What should I tell the Celcom Branch that MNP from TuneTalk is possible? I know that it can be done as a few people have managed to do that. I went to Celcom Branch here in Bintulu just now, they say it cannot be done.

An update. They have not replied my emails, neither do MCMC. So I decided to just switch to Digi first. Then only to Celcom. The switch is free, so I don't really mind. The switch to Digi is really simple. I went to a dealer, gave my name, IC, address and phone number. Then they gave me a SIM.
No contract right? Can I switch soon after the Digi line is activated?

celcom is weird

few weeks ago,i got msj need to go to celcom centre to confim my registration

few days ago,i received another msj saying "your uox plan will changed xpax plan on 27/7/2010,to stay with celcom uox,u need to to celcom branch to confirm registration"

then few hours after that i got another msj from 2999.it say good news.enjoy uox rate with no credit expiry until u are 25 years old.t&c apply

then i check balance *124#.last time the credit expire is 13/7/2010,now not sure the date but its 2018 .

so do i still need to go to celcom centre ?

I did ask, they said that no option for TuneTalk yet in their system. Even their online MNP form also no TuneTalk. I tried using Maybank2U, also no option for TT. I've emailed them to ask, I've also emailed MCMC, see what are their reasons.

Another update. Apparently the MCMC report that I did really works! I was contacted by a Celcom rep this morning, requesting more details from me, including the names of the officers that handled me that day. But I did not remember any. After contacting the Bintulu Branch, the rep called me again just now and said that all things have been clarified with the branch manager, and I can just go to the branch to perform my porting. I will go tomorrow and will update my experience here.

So a tip here, if you have problems and their CS dept is no good in solving it, report directly to MCMC.

I submitted my request at 11am. By 4pm my Celcom line is already activated. At the branch, the officer even apologized to me on behalf of Celcom for the misunderstanding. Wah, an MCMC report can really scare the $hit out of them!

im using celcom exec 50 and using a regular phone.
if i were to change to a blackberry,
how is the data usage calculated?

will it still be under the rm50?
or is it charged separately?

and how about the BIS?
can i just activate BIS per-day just like prepaid,
or must i subscribe to the monthly BIS plan?

bb oni requires BIS to run most of the apps, basically bb is jz like a normal phone if u don subscribe BIS.
yes, thr is daily prepaid BIS, go n check it out in celcom website.
for BIS, u wil nid to pay on top of the current exec50 which mean they r separate.
