QUOTE(khyron @ May 19 2010, 10:57 AM) ya.. i tot at one point they were trying to strengthen it.. but i guess its a material/design thing, no point also... like the VF-25... at first all joints solid, then later become floppy mess i think yamato one the turret barrels longer.. more menacing also |

The SD VF-25F looks interesting... not sure how does it atually transform but 1 thing's for sure: lots of parts swapping will be involved

Yamato 1/60 VF-1S (Unassembled Kits)
Hi everyone Well I like to share with you that this is my 1st time assembling a yamato product. Mostly yamato product comes with end user assembled kit/toy but this rare appounitity I can gain experience in assembling a toy kit instead of modeling kits. ![]() ![]() Well a small review from me during this project. I'll be discussing what the pro and con about this newly release product from yamato. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Pro side is 1) I found that the plastic is more way durable then Bandai model kits since it made with for playable durability than Bandai. 2) It is same as any other yamato 1/60 Valkyrie except instead it was pre assemble this one we have to assemble it out self. 3) I also find that most of the best part for yamato brand runner it only end up 1 sprue on every part unlike Bandai it had multiple sprue on the runner to the part. 4) It is twice cheaper price than any yamato reassemble VF. Here is the example of the runner. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 5) It gives us quite a number of decal which is worth it considering the price for it. Here is the decal view (quite large izzit it) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Wait here more if those of you don’t like decal they also provided sticker type. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 6) Multiple die cast part and screw which is very very good for more durability during transforming. (Bandai should learn this for their own VF 25 modeling kits) Here is the die cast picture » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by chriswoo: May 19 2010, 06:39 PM |

Ok I think that what I can think of from the pro side. However the con side is this kit wasn’t for any average modeler or collect as I found out it was very challenging to assemble one with a confuse assemble guide book.
1) A very very confuse assembling guide book. I think this is the worst guide book in my modeling time. 2) Well if it wasn’t enough for the bad guide book!! It also happens to be the runner wasn’t even label at all and I mean NO indicator for it. On the guide book has written the runner part but on the runner itself has no indicator label on it or whatsoever!! that is like a blind guide line with guess part and puzzle to assemble the kit which is a very NO NO to any modeler Here is picture of the manual » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « And here is the runner’s picture where the indicator label is ????? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « 3) On top of those 2 nightmares here comes the 3 nightmare NOT all part is from the runner. Some already precut out from the runner and package it in 1 plastic bag like this Recut part picture ( OMG OMG WHAT THE HELL ??? which part is for which part … fainted -omg- ) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Ok that what I had for the con side area. Hoping that yamato will consider improving their guide line and maybe they can still stand equal to Bandai in near future for their model kits production line. |

Ok enough of the complaining now starts building
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « During my 1st assembling I found out that some part need a metal to slide to the part for durable articulation movement but is was a very hard and risky that it might break the part if sudden force on it but I found a better way to over this problem » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Here the cockpit that I had resemble so far » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Well that all for now. Will update you guys soon. |
