Well i'm using a pouch for my iphone 3g 16gb. It works great but there is a downside where the pouch covers the speaker as well(pending how u slot it in of course) which makes it harder to listen to ringing of any incoming calls.

Im not pretty sure bout all the other pouches by other brands but currently im using SGP folder illuzion pouch and both my jacks are not covered and I have no problem on hearing the ringing tones at all =)..

@PeeEl: in the case that you're actually already using shields, i doubt you can fit into any kind of pouch or cases except for silicone cases only. As you noe those cases and pouch are made to fit snugly on ur iphone so even a slight thickness from ur shields will make it harder to fit into any form of case. If you tend to push them in, they will actually distort your sticker at the 4 corners of ur iphone. I have tried it out myself. Failed so I just opt to use pouch and I'm those who love to switch cases once awhile..

I was thinking to buy a speck candyshell at first due to variety of good reviews. Went to machines and as expected, they got a number of stocks but not the color that I want. Well, i just gave it a try.

Turned out the center of the case looked almost cracked. The sales person and myself witnessed that at the same time and he assumed maybe the unit has already defected by the time it was arrived.

Well, before he took it out off the shelve, I tried it. Once installed to the phone, candyshell fit firmly and some bulk is added also (not to mention the bling). Thing is that it's abit hard to take it off the phone. I think that is the reason of the crack. Maybe someone test the case before, it cracked and the person got away with it. Not accusing anyone, just my imagination.

Then I tried Power Support Air Jacket (matte black). I didn't even plan to take a look on this one but it seemed the case is so slim and the matte finish also gave a good feeling to touch. Plus, no logo, branding or anything at all, which is a good.

I'm not saying speck candyshell is bad but just my preference, for those who want good protection, you guys can consider the candyshell.

Now i'm looking for a pouch that would compliment the power support air jacket. Thinking of buying moshi ipouch / incipio orion flip

SGP shields does cover the whole of ur phone including the chrome bezel. The LCD screen is provided along with a clear screen protector for more protection. If you do wish to skin or shield ur iphone, most likely you wont be able to fit into any form of cases nor pouches other than silicone cases. I currently have one more SGP shield in stock. i want to make sure if i install plastic case it wont cause scratch iphone surface after long period, i don't know what material most cases make of, just in case its plastic, and i apply a layer of transculent sgp shield which cover whole iphone body, will it be fixed into most cases? since sgp shield is so thin but some people either said it won't or not sure. so anyone tried this before?

what if i take 'some' time a read through 92 pages and non of yous ever discussed about that? <---also refer to most the time some forumers like to give advices like refer back refer back it wont hurt and when refer back nothing that can answer to the questions, not like i never tried in other topic before

Hi there... first time posting here but I've been reading for a while. Will be the proud owner of a 16GB 3GS soon (fingers crossed) and looking seriously at the Sena Magnetflipper. Anyone here with experience using this case?

Thanks. I've looked through this thread and it's been very helpful. Did find that most of the members here prefer the hard/silicon style casing. I agree they show off the phone way better but I need something I can throw in the handbag and not worry about the screen getting scratched by all the junk I carry in it.  That's why I'm thinking of the Sena and a good screen shield, maybe the Martin Fields if I can find one.

Yup, a wee bonnie lass . I've always thought that the SGP / Zagg shield was like a "laminate"/shrink-wrap  type of clear plastic film - it doesn't add that much bulk onto the phone, does it? How durable are they anyway - have read that they'll peel off and yellow after a while which was the main thing that put me off the idea in the first place.

planning to buy this portable charger....anyone try this before...will it harm my phone ?

I second that opinion since I'm using one for the iPod Touch. The battery life is actually quite good since it manages to charge my Touch from near zero to full two times before giving out. My solution to the loose connection problem is very low tech though - all you need is a couple of rubber bands snapped on while the phone is in ur bag / pocket. 

Heh, now you know why I keep it in the bag Having said that, I'm using it on the Touch but I can't imagine relying on it for backup power (rubber band style) for my day to day use of the iPhone. I'd splurge on a Mophie if portability turns out to be a big deal since the iTrip doubles up as a charger in car.

The price is quite hefty. how good is the quality? i am interested in the magnetic flapper or something like that. just one question, will the magnet affect our iphone in anyway? coz last time i use to have a magnetic pouch and it will auto activate or auto answer the phone due to the strong magnet.

I've been using a magnetic flip-up case with the Touch for the past year and so far so good. Not sure if that's the same with the iPhone. In any case, I'll be able to give you first hand info soon - waiting for my Sena Magnetflipper to arrive in the mail . Yeah, it's pretty expensive but I've used their cases in the past and they are really well made.
