Yes it does. It pretty much covers up every part of the phone.
*
Not entirely true. Like most if not shields, the front section of the chrome bezel (the part on the same level as the screen) is not covered and that actually is my pet peeve. The reason being that part is vulnerable and susceptible to scuffs and scratches.

I bought the SGP Shield too. It doesn't protect the chrome bezel but the good thing is it's slim and looks very nice on the iPhone. Sadly I am unable to find a leather casing that will fit it just yet. sad.gif
*
Strictly my personal preferrence. I have applied Bodyguardz(BG) as well as SGP Shield on my iPhones.

Stated before in this thread that BG is better than SGP. Notwithstanding that, I also put on a case for protection from drops and knocks. But I only use silicone or polymer, which is a form of hard rubber, cases. Hard cases as experienced by so many, will 'hurt' your phone particularly the chrome bezel whereas the cases I mentioned do not unles you have grains of sand underneath. On top of that, most of these cases cover the chrome bezel too.

this case will surely make the phone bulky. Normally hard cases with full front back protection are bulky
*
Bulk is relative. So, it is subjective and for me, having stated that, there are some hard covers which are not too bulky. There are also quite a few silicone cases which are handy as well.

So you reckon which case that have the same protection as rebel? How about Capsule NEO but is very tedious step of installing it.

Snapping in or slide it in? which is preferred type of hard case protection?
*
IMHO, hard cases though handsome looking should be avoided as they can and inadvertently will scratch the chrome bezel of your iPhone. More so for the sliding in types.

My personal preference would be the silicone ones where they not only cover and thus protect the whole chrome bezel, they subject the phone to lesser possibilities of scratches. And there are nice ones out there in the market. iSkin, PDAir, More, to name a few.

Silicone cases are kind of bulky tho right? Do they feel good in your hand?
*
All cases add bulk. You can't escape from that. Having said that, some of the silicone cases are not as bulky as some hard cases which I am advising against.

Oops, I forgot! Yes, most of the silicone cases do give you better grip as they are somehow anti-slip.

for silicone case, i like iSkin Solo the best.. what do you think guys?
*
There's actually no one best case. It all depends on your requirement(s) and preference.

I have used so far mainly silicone cases as per what I have philosophized. Just bought the iSkin Solo. Prefer that to the Solo FX as I like the clear back rather than with patterns on it. However, have not put it on my 3G as it is meant for my 3GS when I get it.

It feels good and compared to other similar material cases, this looks more elegant.

I read from many sources that the Nu Form scratches the back of black iPhones quite badly even without dusts being trapped under. Unlike the Seidio Innocase II and Incase Slider, the Nu Form doesn't have any padding between the back of the phone and hard plastic rear cover.

Anyone know where to buy the iSkin Solo or Solo FX? I called the Machines around Selangor and none of them have it in stock right now.
*
There is at least a couple of forummers selling iSkin products along with others. Head to GS and do a search.

Currently i'm using SGP screen protector only so I'm not realy sure if you could put in your SGP Shield .
Without the shield its kinda very tight already once you put the Epikcase on.

I think I'm the first person who asked the case from AskarPerang, all along he was just selling Nokia cases only. Lucky he sells iPhone case too rclxms.gif .
I bought 2 cases from him, 1 clear & 1 black. I love the clear version alot.
I'll give Epikcase Review

iPhone Casing: Epikcase (for 3G/3Gs)
Price: RM 15( from AskarPerang)
Rating: 9.5/10

Pros:
1. Covers chrome bezel,
2. Same build as iSkin Solo/Fx
3. Thinner than iSkin Solo/Fx
3. Cheap

Cons:
1. Water look-alike sign on Apple Logo ( But it doesn't irritates me much)

Comments:
It is a great replacement for iSkin Solo/FX with a great price. It is unbelievably reasonable as it cover your whole iPhone including the volume button and sleep/wake button. It can be put into pocket easily and increases grip on your hand. Buyers will never regret buying one with such low price.
*
I actually bought similar cases or I should say same, from a seller here at GS at lower prices.

My query here is that in the pictures in the review posted, at the back of some of the casings, there is the Epik logo and in some there is none. Does that mean the latter is fake?

Could someone clarify on this? It would help the forummers who are interested in this casing.

Hello guys,

Those that have used mophie juice pack, may I know whether an installed sgp-shield iphone fits nicely with the pack? (anyone that have try la).

And what kind of pouch available that suit an iphone with the pack?

Thanks.
*
If you want to slip in your iPhone into the Morphie Juice, the former must be 'stark naked'. You cannot have any shield on. It is a tight fit as it is.

There are no, AFAIK, iPhone casings for the Morphie Juice. Perhaps you could get one of those sunglass pouches.

If its a branded and expensive casing, then its ok because you know the quality is gonna be good. but for cheap cases, i really prefer if i can hold the thing in my hand and feel the material quality.. this will make it easier for me to choose the one i like instead of just looking at the pictures smile.gif

I'm sure there are a plenty of shops around KL selling cheap cases but i don't know where.. any ideas guys?
*
The one place I know that you will be spoilt for choice is Low Yat Plaza. But the prices there as opposed to those being sold at GS are sometimes as high as 150% more. Since you want to touch it, feel it and try it, you have to pay the price(excuse the pun).

My advice is buy those branded ones which are not too costly like Boomwave and the like. You will be better off than purchasing the RM20 imitation ones though some are not all that bad for temporary use.

i'll be picking up my iphone 3gs tomorrow in maxis.  and right after picking it up, i'm planning to buy an SGP shield and iSkin Solo!

anyone here know where i can buy the SGP shield and the iSkin solo in KL? (machines/mac branch?)

anyone tried using the SGP shied and iSkin solo? how was it? scratches? lints? watermarks?

feedback would be greatly appreciated! thanks.
*
I have SGP Shield applied to my i3G and still cover it with a casing. I have a few and rotate them. They are of silicone and polymer material and do not scratch the phone. In any event, it is already protected by the shield.

For my i3GS, I am going to apply Bodyguardz as I feel it is better than SGP Shield. Then will be putting on iSkin Solo which I got my sis-in-law to bring back from the States. Don't know about watermark/lint as I have yet to do the aforementioned.

For those who do not know, you can get the SGP Shield and Bodyguardz from re-sellers at GS.

None in machines? sad.gif

I have posted this before but let me refresh everyone's memories. Slider cases will almost certainly scratch your phone especially at the chrome bezel. So, be warned.

You can actually buy from one of our re-sellers, Jacquei at GS. She is selling them at RM90 each pack of 2.

any pictures of the case after some period or the scratches on the phone?
*
It is because of what I stated, I do not use slider cases. I do not also use hard cases for the same reason. Thus far, my cases are of relatively soft material like silicone or polymer and the like.

maybe my epikcase is the one with the circle pattern, and my iPhone is black, so didn't see any watermark. And about scrath the bezel part thingy, I didn't face this prob wink.gif perhaps u can try some other silicone case?
Cheers
*
Tight fiting cases even if it is silicone or polymer material will scratch the chrome bezel if you put and remove them often. It is actually the 'devil and the deep blue sea' dilemma. You do not want too loose fitting a case and then if too tight, it scratches your iPhone. Sigh!

dear all, need some advices here. I plan to apply the SGP Anti-Fingerprint Film for screen protector + SGP Valencia Leather Pouch (Folder).
Is it enough for protection  (scratching...). Should I apply the shield for whole body?
*
Though applying the Screen Protector will sufficiently protect the front of your phone, applying the shield for the back will give you peace of mind, not to mention any mishaps that may cause scratches. But you have to ensure that with the shield applied, it can still slip into your pouch.

hi there, just wanna share my point as well. I have just applied a shield onto my iphone and I tried fitting into a pouch.. It does fit but with applied force and it may distort the stickers from the side of the iphones.. This might cause them to peel and look horrible. So I guess once you applied shield over your phone, you wont be able to fit into any type of cases nor pouch.  flex.gif
*
I beg to differ. I have SGP Shield on one and Bodyguardz on another but for both I can still fit any silicone/polymer casing in. However for hard cases, it is a little tricky. Not sure about pouches though. Am thinking of getting one. So, if I do, shall post my observations here.

Added on October 25, 2009, 11:36 pmHaving said I am looking for a pouch, does anyone here have the SGP Illuzion for sale or even trade? I just bought an iSkin Solo, Blue and decided against it as I already have many such silicone cases.

If anyone wants to buy, I am willing to sell my iSkin(absolutely new, unused) at RM110. Market price is between RM125 and RM140. Can check it out at GS.

Do let me know. TQ.

AFAIK, SGP Illuzion isn't made out of leather and i'm not sure if the surface may crack or chip off after a prolonged usage?

was actually contemplating getting that, before i opted for my vaja, but when i learned that you could customise your name on the case, i was sold!
*
Thanks mate for the heads up. But I thought it is leather. Though the Vaja is quite handsome looking, I prefer slip-ins. Perhaps, Incipio Orion and the like?

Anyway, anyone out there interested in my proposition, please let me know. TQ.

hi, will be getting my iphone soon...
what is the best case to start off ?
i like the switcheasy, they come with a lot of goodies inside.
rebel is better or neo ? izzit over bulky that it will it will make you uncomfortable when u put inside ur jean pocket.
beside this, any other recommendation ?

Your question has been asked and answered many times over by fellow forummers here. I keep telling that it is 'to each his own'. So, no one but you yourself can decide what you like or want. You just have to do some leg work.

I have the SGP Illuzion slider case. Definitely not leather but it's pretty solid, and got a couple of compliments for it. But if you're looking for other options, have u checked out the Sena UltraSlim pouches? Genuine leather, and looks classy too. Would probably be my next purchase if I get tired with my current pouch biggrin.gif
*
Thanks. I have actually scoured all over and perhaps seen the Sena pouches but they didn't register since I wasn't looking for one then. Will check it out.

I thought you have been buying from a seller here in GS?!

Have you considered Bodyguardz? In my opinion, it is slightly better than SGP Shield and you can also get it from resellers in GS.
