QUOTE(Coconut @ Jul 21 2009, 12:52 AM) Hm, then i might just get the shield, put in inside a oakley pouch or a moshi pouch is sufficient right? I guess in terms of slimness, the shield is the the slimmest right? I just want something that won't add any bulk onto the iphone and yet provide sufficient protection. yeah. as long as you don't drop your phone. it's sufficient to protect against scratches due to normal usage. and yes, it's the slimmest compared to InvisibleShield and Bodyguardz.

@macnchurr:any brands of body shields? SGP provides the best protection for chrome bezel among all. hard/sillicone case that protects the chrome bezel are everywhere in the market but sometimes dusts/dirts do tend to slip in and scratch the chrome bezel. that's what happened in my case. @Masamune:yeah. there's a Paul Frank store in Pavillion. @tink:hahaha...think i probably will get the same one too. @ah1:scratches and drops? definitely a hard case. do look at SwitchEasy Capsule Neo, Rebel, Griffin iClear and tons of other choices out there.

QUOTE(viosowner @ Jul 21 2009, 10:19 PM) damn. both machines in gardens and midvalley do not sell Incipio Feather and SGP Ultra Thin . finally managed to locate incipio feather white in Maxis midvalley. dont like the built quality compared to power support's air jacket set. and i think the white incipio will turn yellow. (made in china also) in the end decide to get air jacket set (made in japan) after comparing the toughness. now rm158 poorer thanks ppl for all ur advice again did the personnel there allow you to test those casings before you decided to purchase? how much does Incipio Feather cost at Machines? Power Support's Air Jacket is one of the best casings around for iPhone. might be a lil pricey but i bet the quality must be much better. there was once when i was lining up paying for my Griffin iClear, i saw this kid who bought 2 sets of the Air Jacket! and he was just like 14 or 15.

QUOTE(sysh @ Jul 22 2009, 12:03 AM) Looking at the reviews of it online, it'll help with those close-up shots. Only problem with the Clarifi is that the back cover (at the middle) is prone to scratches. It's a toss up between the Nu Form and the Clarifi. but i thought Clarifi is for macro shots and 3GS already have an AF camera right? hmm..

@viosowner:like what tink said, crystal clear SP makes your screen looks much more clearer/brighter. but matte type is good for those who hates to see those greasy fingerprints (although it only help to reduce up to a certain extent, fingerprints will still show up). after been using both the matte and clear type, i can say i prefer the clear type more as i can just wipe off the fingerprints easily with my Oakley. btw, i've been using lotsa SPs and from my experience, those cheapo RM5-10 type get scratched easily. (always tend to use my shirt to clean my screen ) i'm not sure about others but the one i'm currently using (SGP Steinheil Crystal) is not as prone to scratches as those cheapo ones. there has been cases reported that the oleophobic coating on 3GS wears off over time so i guess it's better to use a SP. SP don't cost a lot anyway and yes iPhone's screen is originally quite resistant to scratches even without any SP protection, used to use it w/o any SP for sometime. @tink:hahaha. was using the matte type for like few months then i couldn't live with the watery blurness of my screen then once i switch to crystal clear i was sooooooo happy. made such a huge difference. ps:the watery blurness might be due to the cheapo matte SP. only 10 bucks for two.

QUOTE(sysh @ Jul 22 2009, 11:39 PM) Problem with alot of these Premium Resellers is that they have limited stocks on the cases for the iPhones. I went to the one in Pyramid and 1U, not that many to choose from tried Machines MV, Gardens or Lot 10? they always have plenty of stock. or they were still yet to restock when you went.

QUOTE(dopp @ Jul 25 2009, 12:21 AM) I've ordered Z-life fullbody, can see review at youtube. Waiting for it to arrive. where did it ordered it from? IINM, it was produced locally, via a company in Cheras, KL. it's almost identical to InvisibleShield except that the screen protector given is over-sized.

QUOTE(denzel88 @ Jul 25 2009, 09:15 AM) Does Capdase ConXept Case for iPhone 3G has logo protection film in it? no its doesn't. but the case itself came with a thin, plastic protection at the round opening area showing the logo.

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Jul 25 2009, 01:09 PM) Bro teikwing, I think what you mentioned is what he was referring to as logo protection. Most casings with the circular opening for the apple logo do come with a round plastic film but some don't. Added on July 25, 2009, 1:22 pmI have toyed with the idea of just having a pouch or sleeve to put my iPhone in but protection thence is only when you are not using the phone. It is when you are using/handling the phone that the exposure of drops is great. Therefore, I have decided to have a case in place even though I have applied BG. I have a number of cases and the most compromised ones in terms of less bulk are the silicone cases. There are many in the market you can go for. Spend some time shopping for them and you will probably find at least one to serve the tri purpose of aesthetics, limited bulk and protection, not necessarily in that order. Though I have not tried the imitation ones and there are lots in the market, it may well be worth checking them out, the prices of which can be for some, 15% of the original. yeah. that's what i'm trying to explain. the case doesn't come with a logo protection film but came with a piece of thin plastic attached to the case which covers the round logo opening thus protecting it from scratches.

@idoblu: 3GS comes with oleophobic coating originally but that doesn't make it scratch-proof and fingerprints will still appear. and there has been cases where the coating wears off over time. Gelaskins is a type of skin/sticker for the back-part protection.
@lucaslik: the screen is not scratch-proof although it can be quite scratch-resistant. decision is yours.

@jackhammer84:
you guys really make lotsa preparations in anticipating your 3GS eh? all i did was getting SE Colors on the first day and that's it. why didn't you get SGP Shield? BG has some orange peel effect just like IS IINM. do let me know if you've found any affordable car holder/mount. tried those RM15 from LYP and the quality is quite bad. those sponges fell off only after a week of usage. saw one which costs RM40 but it was for Sammy Omnia. there's this Samsung wording on the holder. think it fits 3G/3GS but didn't get to try it. @jfoong:iShield = InvisibleShield. and all those bodyshields/skins like Invisible Shield, BodyGuardz, SGP Shield etc. come with screen protectors. @jackhammer84:haha. one can really feel the 3GS fever eh? yeah. do make your personal review on BG. on the cheapo windscreen holder: besides the dropped-off sponges, the rubber suction thingie will turn yellowish too after sometime. so i guess for 15 bucks, you get what u paid for. i'm looking for windscreen/dashboard mounts. hope to find one like WindowSeat but at a cheaper price. @tink:of course for GPS usage lah. tak kan for show-off? (but i'm afraid of those break-in cases for thieves who thought we had a GPS device in our ride) @johnliew:those selling for 15 bucks at Carrefour, is it similar to this? (first one. exactly the same as the one selling at LYP)

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 30 2009, 12:19 AM) @teikwing, Ah well.. one needs to pay the price for quality products right?! I have a GPS-Bay and the damn windscreen mount doesn't stick properly anymore [maybe cause I keep taking it out and fixing it on] - now when I put it up, it drops down. The last thing U want is ur mount dropping when ur i3G/i3GS is fixed to it! seriously? even branded ones are like that arr? imagine when you're speeding at like 110km/h, overtaking, looking at the iPhone for navigation and suddenly the thing dropped off.
