hi guys, do you think those skinning with total transparent is good ?
pass by mines and ask one of the shop, it cost rm 60 for whole body skinning

but i would prefer a mirror effect at the front, any comment ?
*
i used to consider that option before (asked at The Mines too) but the material for used skinning looked kinda low quality & non-glossy, not to my liking. better fork out extra to get invisibleSHIELD (around RM70-80) or BodyGuardz (RM90-100), both comes with lifetime warranty.

mirror effect as in? just get a mirror SP. smile.gif

3G iPhone Casing: Capdase ConXept Case for iPhone 3G (White)

Price: RM68 @ Machines

Package includes: ConXept Case, 1 x Hard Screen Protector (Anti Scratch, Unbreakable), Stand, Pouch

Rating: 9.5/10

Pros:
- Cheapest branded hardshell plastic case around (even silicone cases like Switcheasy Colors & Speck PixelSkin cost more)
- Removable bottom cover for docking purpose
- Slim (slimmer than Griffin iClear)
- Glossy finish
- Protects chrome bezel
- Cut out for showing Apple logo (with logo protection film)
- Availability of 'port' on case for lanyard
- Comes with plenty of freebies : Hard SP, Stand, Pouch

Cons:
- No protection for Power/Sleep button, Silent/Mute button & Volume Rocker
- Expose a lil' of the chrome bezel near charging/docking port
- Inside front part of case is bare plastic, only the back part is rubber coated. (Doesn't bother me as phone's back part is protected with Capdase BodiFender)
- Doesn't fit i3G with IS/BG (tried on a friend's)
- Glossy finish surface is more prone to scratches

Comments: I thought my previous iClear was the best case and this is even better (in terms of looks & thickness). Been looking for Incase Slider for sometime but couldn't get it locally. I'm fond of white casings and was thinking of getting the PixelSkin until I bump into this one. It comes in variety of colors (White, Black, Red, Blue) and the staff at Machines Midvalley is kind enough to let me test each of the color on my phone (even get to test PixelSkin). IMO, white looks the best on black i3G.

For that price, you get a case with removable bottom cover for docking (similar branded cases with such feature costs RM100 & above), hard case protects against drops, plenty of useful freebies and looks awesome in glossy white finish (using it with a Golla pouch so it's less prone to scratches, hopefully). smile.gif

@ TeikWing,

If im not mistaken, this quality of case will have scratches in time to come, unlike iclear, its like scratch proof...Not sure lar...haha
*
all cases with glossy finish will end up with lotsa scratches after some time. but i'm using it with a Golla pouch. so guess it's not no prone to scratches. smile.gif

my iphone now naked which i have removed my IS and my rebel artic (since my rebel wont do the job no more) so im switching back to my ol trusty golla pouch
hope i can carefully use the phone without scratching it....
*
i was thinking of doing that too. iPhone looks best naked! thumbup.gif

but was afraid gonna scratch the chrome part. sometimes i do feel cases did protect the phone against drops but they did add/contribute to some scratches as well, at least in my case. sad.gif

PeeEl:

skinning the back for 20 bucks is cheap. asked at some shop in The Mines skinning the back + chrome bezel is RM65. sweat.gif

@prototype_x0:

anti-glare is the best i've used so far. mirror SP get scratched easily. clear ones are fingerprints-prone. just get those cheapo RM10 ones will do. unless you got extra money to spare. branded ones are almost the same quality. would you spend RM40 on a SP? biggrin.gif

@shumaky:

try Machines Midvalley or Lot 10. Sunway Pyramid's one got plenty of choices too. smile.gif

hehe.. overprotective?

actually i'm thinking of getting the leather pouch only.. but thinking of the finger prints really annoy me off.. so get both lo  biggrin.gif

any other solution which can really protect my iPhone(in the sense of something like the leather pouch which is quite hard) and keeps the finger prints away?
*
iPhone is always fingerprints-prone. get a anti-glare/finerprint screen protector.

best combination: use invisibleSHIELD & leather pouch.

speaking about leather pouch, this one here looks really classy.

Marware CEO Glide

bro nokia, any link to the Oakley soft pouch you're referring to? smile.gif

nice one.. i googled and read some people feedback..
mind to give me ur comment on this Moshi iPouch?
It's still soft and cant prevent u from hitting hard object eg. table right?
*
@nokia2003: looks nice to me. is the material something like Moshi iPouch? price-wise?

@jingyong:

stick IS for just the back part while use anti-glare/fingerprint SP for the front.

yes, bro. it's soft, doesn't protect the phone when hitting hard objects. it does the job well of cleaning your phone while it's in your pouch though.

no idea on its correlation with moshi as i have never personally seen/felt one before.

mine came from my personal oakley collection. 1 oakley specs/shade = 1 pouch.

a quick search on the australian oakley website, yielded me with this this

AUD49.95 for 5, so it is approximately RM26 for one?
*
RM26 for one is darn affordable for a branded pouch. iPouch is selling for 99 bucks.

hope i can find one in M'sia though.

i don't mind doing a bulk since i'm here in australia.

but in order to protect myself from the depreciation of MYR, i will have to charge rm30 per piece.

my brother is flying home mid june and will be able to meet peeps in one utama.

i don't mind having one for my own personal consumption, that leaves the order to 4
*
you can count me in for one, bro. but i will be not in KL till end of June. sad.gif

Izzit good?
its look COOL btw,
thinking of buying it.
izzit worth it?
*
unless you're okay with glossy surfaces & can take care of it well enough, i wouldn't recommend that. the glossy surface would be prone to scratches & will lose its glory after some time.

*
using a Golla one myself. comes with lifetime warranty. smile.gif

@PeeEl,
Yes I think it's wrapping of 'plastic film' but i'm not too sure cause I didn't get mine wrapped.  It's not that expensive at LYP either, I think about RM60 *shrugs*  It's definitely better than invisible Shield though if U asked me biggrin.gif
*
what kinda material is that? RM60 is quite cheap since it's including workmanship.

anyway, just wrapped my 3G with SGP shield yesterday. tried IS previously and i can say it's much better than IS. the screen protector that comes with the package is superbly clear and the application process is much easier. (corners are easier to stick on)

That's why I chipped in. At Digital Mall, Section 14, it is only RM30 for the transparent film, front and back. At least that was the price when I had it done about 5 months ago. For those with patterns, if I remember correctly, it's RM10 more. So, it's worth making the trip there. But the caveat here is the workmanship.

I now have the Boduguardz on and if you apply nicely, it actually is a sight to behold, if I can use that descriptive sentence. Tried SGP shield but though easier to apply, not as durable as BG. Invisible Shield is very diificult to put on.
*
i guess SGP is less durable coz it's thinner? used to think IS is almost the same as BG so i opted for SGP. anyway, i do agree with the bolded sentence, it really is. biggrin.gif

think it's on the 1F where all the mobile phone shops/stalls are (beside the escalator towards 2F). but IINM, the material is different from IS/BG/SGP. it's more like the normal skinning material used on normal phones. much thinner.

Added on July 17, 2009, 1:09 amMaybe I get those super thin ones like griffin iclear =/
*
Griffin iClear isn't that slim actually. kinda bulky IMO. but it's very a good case overall. best protection for those who always tend to drop their phones as the material quite rigid and tough. the case is still intact even after you've dropped it. most satisfying case i've used so far till i decided to use my phone naked with just SGP shield and an Oakley optical pouch. biggrin.gif

hey as anybody used the Griffin Reveal before? website here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/reveal

looks pretty good, IMHO. similar to the iClear but thinner.

was wondering if anybody who's using it now is able to give feedback/review.

however, i still can't find it in the shops here. I've tried Machines KLCC and Mid Valley, and Mac City in 1 Utama, can't find sad.gif
but i think there are sellers on the Garage Sales threads that are selling this.
has anybody seen this being sold in any other shops?
*
something like the SGP case but with chrome bezel protection? (1.9mm thickness!) but bet the clear back part are prone to scratches unlike iClear's milky back. still it's a pretty nice-looking case. slim=sexy! biggrin.gif

here's some shots of it:

twinkles is selling it here.

retails at $24.99 in the States.
