Hello all, Sony Style store selling A300K for rm1999 and A300X for rm2499, both with bag, monopod and CF card. Is this good price or is it cheaper in KL? I am in Kuching. I like how the A300 feels in my hands and it is just light enough for me to carry while hiking. I am deciding between the A300 and Pentax K200d (for the weather resistant body). Also, anyone have experience with the 18-250 lens from Sony and Tamron? Is the Sony much better? Thanks.

street price for a300 is around 1750 for single kit and around 2200 for twin in kl. Go survey around in sungai wang, pudu and pertama complex.

If you're in kuching, den i guess it's better to buy there unless you wanna pay the air flight to come here.

oh i see, thanks. nowadays people travel often and going to kl also quite often (business or leisure) and cheap so plane ticket not a problem. are those prices you quoted with free gifts as well? not that i care so much about the free gifts as i already have two tripods and plenty of cf cards but a good bag would be nice. the salesperson at the sony store said prices are fixed by sony and that other stores by right should not undercut by selling at much cheaper prices. maybe is just marketing speak i donno...

alternatively, do a quick search in lyn garage sale, i bought from a guy from another state too! I got him to send me the camera to KL ...his price is pretty attractive though!
