QUOTE(craziqbal @ Feb 7 2009, 08:12 PM) just got back from sg wang where I jalan2 with sifu albert and ahmike. Jalan2 survey 1680Z, 16105, siggy 1770 f2.8-4, and siggy 1850 f2.8. the siggy 1770 is seriously insane man, damn sharp, focuses damn fast, the MFD is freaking awesome (20cm..I was almost touching ahmike's face with the front of the lens, and it still focuses) and the images are damn sharp! (i know i mentioned this twice, but I had to!) there's not much difference between the 1680 and 16105, just the colour a bit different. (from my eyes la..) couldn't find the tammy 1750, I'll go survey this lens first before making my decision. right now it's 50-50 between 16105 (i love the range) and the siggy 1770 (all the reasons stated above) QUOTE(lauyamonk @ Feb 7 2009, 08:20 PM) Wow, u guys got poisoned by 1770? ok, some photos from 1770 for u guys...hmm..is the focusing fast? i think i expect it to be faster though was playing around with my cam today (too bored) some pix for anyone that is interested in 1770: exif still intact:) images color was adjusted, no cropping just resizing, no sharpening, all shot at MFD » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « c&c much appreciated Added on February 7, 2009, 8:43 pmnickilala, edmondwwk check out the pix. taken with 1770 This post has been edited by Sp00kY: Feb 7 2009, 08:44 PM |

QUOTE(kysham @ Feb 9 2009, 09:37 AM) If someone tells you that you are not producing good images simply because you are using a Sony Alpha, then I would say that person is a nut and knows nothing about producing good quality pictures... bro kysham: Just my 2 cents, since the scenery is foggy, try changing the mood of the picture..try making it like dawn/dust...change the mood to a more mellow mood....my imagination tells me it will be better...hahah..just my 2 cents...OK, on a different note: Here is another photo from my trip to China. It was a very foggy day when we went for the boat trip on this lake. I can't get a single decent clear shot, so instead, I took foggy scenery shots! Scenery @ Xi Wu (West Lake) in Hangzhou, China. Shot with A700 & Sigma 70-200. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by Sp00kY: Feb 9 2009, 10:20 AM |

QUOTE(neo_lam @ Feb 9 2009, 02:14 PM) guys...a very common quetion here.... wide = camera decides ur focus pointwhat AF area mode u guys using?? Wide or Spot or Local?? coz when i use wide the camera will always focus on other part of the subject..... n how to get almost all part of my subject been focussed in?? spot = focus point in the middle local = u decide ur focus point. i usually use local (more control). u need adjust ur DOF to get all subject in focus. QUOTE(dingenius3 @ Feb 9 2009, 05:37 PM) i used LOCAL sometimes only.. most of the time is set to SPOT... beware of recompose oh..i find it much quicker to use SPOT... as i just need to half-snap.. then recomposed the pics.. at the same time.. metering also done during the half-snap.. QUOTE(hokc77 @ Feb 9 2009, 05:51 PM) Let's take a break from all the "missiles".. Hmm, somehow i find it under-exposed....1/40 is superb. I always shoot at 1/4 or 1/10 in lo light hand held. What u need is a tripod for such shot...u need a higher f value (f=5.6 or higher) hence a fast lens wont help. just my 2 centsSince today is the last day of CNY, how bout some spam? Location FGS Dong Zen Temple in Banting Klang. Endure 1 hour of traffic jam but it was worth it. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Wished i had a faster lense.......... Most of the shots were handheld at 1/40 or 1/50 so pls excuse the "blurness"... QUOTE(KTCY @ Feb 9 2009, 06:57 PM) Comparing a D40 with D3x is like comparing your local proton with Ferrari. Stupid comparison isn't it ? i think he is not comparing. he is trying to point out the 'revolution' from D40 to D3x where the focus point has been increasing and increasing:) 2 cents sajaI never know that moarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr focus point = better camera. SRSLY !!! seram: too little of the sun and too much of water and sky...try cropping the pic? just my 2 cents.. something like that: (sorry for touching your pic:D) ![]() This post has been edited by Sp00kY: Feb 9 2009, 08:55 PM |
