QUOTE(chiggy @ Feb 12 2009, 10:07 AM) I need some assistance just my noob comment:Actually I can trial and error... but some opinions would be nice for my cuckoo brain Nowadays when I shoot people, I tend to use flash all the time (HVL-F42AM) For indoors I use WB 5300 because the flash WB is 5300 - the colours produced are superb For outdoors in the shade, the same WB 5300 also produce the same colours However, under the sun with WB 5300, I get a yellow tint, basically the photos look yellow. Which WB should I try the next time I shoot people with flash under the sun? Sunlight should be around 2600k~2800k if i`m not mistaken... since ur flash is 5300k, the penetration of 5300k is weaker than 2600k..which means the sunlight will still penetrate through some of your 5300k rays. ok, now to camera setting, i`m unsure how the camera works but: Try lowering ur WB to 5000k or 4800k? ( i assume that ur light source now will be lesser than 5300k due to penetration of yellow rays from the sunlight. correct me if i`m wrong, noob here.... |

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Feb 12 2009, 02:29 PM) Added on February 12, 2009, 2:30 pm hehe...a big ass lens would be damn cool man...make your SLR look more "fierce" QUOTE(neo_lam @ Feb 12 2009, 02:33 PM) guys....jz now saw someone talking bout WB.... I will avoid using AWB if i can. If i`m outdoor, i will use daylight. esp when i`m indoor, i eitehr go for custom or tungsten because i shoot in yellow light indoor most of the time. Using AWB gives a super orangy color which is wrong....u guys use AWB or set by ourself?? i wanna know wats the setting for indoor shots and outdoor shots?? wats the WB for f58am....? QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Feb 12 2009, 02:33 PM) somehow i got the impression that if i have a f2.8 lens, i wont need a tripod to take night shots..is that true? Well, not for me though. my shots are mostly indoor (dinner time) lo light, 2.8 isnt really sufficient to capture movemeny. static wise its good enough...to capture movements i need 1/60 or above...depends on individual, some always shoot at 2.8 and they are happy with it, for me, i try to shoot at f4 nowdays because i want a super sharp pic, (pixel freak)Added on February 12, 2009, 2:34 pm AWB all the way unless i want some special "feel" to my pic.. side note: big filter not good lo, heavy! I cant tell u exact how many K....u can either use the preset "tungsten" WB for yellow light...and flouresant for the flouresant tube.coz i dunno wat number should i use?? btw, normal car light (halogen not HID) is around 2600k...so gauge la..heheheh... BMW, MERZ, CAMRY, HARRIER (other continental/stock HID) is 4300k |

give u some idea of color temp 2600k - halogen (car headlight) 4300k - daylight in the morning 6000k - pure white 8000k - white + bluish 1000k - purplish+ pinkish something like that |
