You mean Tammy has manufacturing defect? It depends on your luck. If you get a lemon copy (front / back focusing) definitely you'll get a lot of OOF pictures. If your unit is not defect, it's a bloody sharp lens. Even sharper than the Minolta 50mm f1.7 prime. Ideal for indoor shot, wedding and walkaround

Tammy 17-50mm f2.8 is indeed a sharp lens. You'll definitely forget your kitlens once you're poisoned by this lens

Don't buy from those Sony Center @ RRP. Lurk around and hunt for shops offering street price. The extra bucks you saved can be used to purchase accs e.g. tripod, bigger memory cards, and stuff like that
