QUOTE(Rojak44 @ Jan 23 2009, 06:19 PM) RM 30...I don't know...but it looked like it had a brand...just that, there were no holes for the sensors, so, my SP got cut...and I didn't like that...which is why I'm ordering a new set of SP which includes SP for the camera and flash |

QUOTE(adrive @ Jan 23 2009, 06:33 PM) firstly, congrats on V6!! it's the fastest moving thread evah or a smudgy screen protector...it happened on my 5800...i had to cut it...i don't think its the sensor's fault as it is doing its job perfectly fine...its just us users which decided that the screen needed an SPnow, just to share with ya all..my friend's 5800 keep having problem with the screen shutting off right at the instant a call is made or received. the weird thing is, we both bought it on same day, same screen protector (doesn't precut the sensor) and he sent to NCC few times to check on it but still happens. Today, we both tested on a theory that this happens on very bright environment, (etc warm Sunlight) . We both whipped out our phone and started dialing the same number, right at that instant, his screen shut off. Why not mine? All these all..we thought screen protectors were the cause but based on this theory...i'm suspecting there is a batch of nokia 5800 with proximity sensor defect! Maybe all these while we don't even need an SP that pre cuts the sensor. It's caused by an oversensitive hardware that might not have been tweaked properly before going into assembly. just my thoughts |

QUOTE(awe_ploon @ Jan 23 2009, 06:36 PM) wahh...!!!v6 oledi??? as the fastest moving thread?haha...too late...we need someone to track since it started in V1...then only legit...very2 fast lorhhh... plz some 1 tell the Malaysian Book of Record to put this thread as 1 of the New Malaysian record...haaaaa....! Added on January 23, 2009, 6:38 pm QUOTE(mugiwarabai @ Jan 23 2009, 06:36 PM) my SP oso didnt cut at sensor area. mine working fine, no screen shut off during making calls. yes it is normal...maybe your SP is not thick enough cause a lot of other ppls 5800 turns off if there is a "good" quality SP on the screenbut, is it normal if the phone screen turn to black when we covered the sensor using our finger during making calls? Added on January 23, 2009, 6:44 pm QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jan 23 2009, 06:41 PM) Just checked muh sensor... It's fine... lol...its like we're hoping the RnD of the 5800 and the future N97 will be reading it =pWill add the issue to frontpage if someone else can confirm that SOME more 5800s has got the over-sensitive Prox Sensor... but then again, as an owner of the 1st batch, I would recommend those who wish to get this handset to wait for at least the price to drop...
maybe to 1.2-1.3K original everywhere... for now, demand is still crazy high, especially with CNY tomorrow... even after CNY, ppl who just got their bonuses or even their ang paus will head on to the nearest phone dealer to get themselves a brand new "tube"... at least, if you get it at a cheaper price, the money saved 100-300 could buy yourself a spare battery, nicer IEMs, bluetooth maybe or some killer apps (if you're that crazy)... but that's just my opinion of course... |
